Some comments:
1. From now on, let's not pause the game unless requested by someone.
2. Yes, LP is back, I noticed. I'll send a message to their team soon. As long as it's before turn 90 I hope it'll be okay.
Now comments about the actual game ...
1. Let's hope Rome doesn't have iron. That would be pretty funny. And if they're playing no diplo, do they have open borders with anyone? If not, that's got to be costing them something.
2. No one we know has connected silver at all? Really? That's kind of surprising, especially since Care Bears had silver in a great location. (And furs, too.
)
3. Masonry next turn, good. It's going to be a crawl to Mathematics, and I'm honestly wondering if we're going to have to research Currency early, given our high costs. Or we just need more (riverside!) cottages.
4. With the worker that just finished the farm at MIT, do we want him to mine or go up to the 7th city area? And what's the gneral plan for the 7th city?
CITIES!
1. Carnegie Mellon: Doing a 3 pop whip at size 8 might be interesting ... as long as we keep the scientists working, of course.
2. MIT: Grow to size 5, start a worker?
3. Stanford: Ok, axe next turn. When do you think we can get a cottage on the riverside grassland there?
4. UC Berkeley: We could finish the axe or workboat ... I'm getting worried about our unit costs ... we could put overflow into something we know we'll need later (probably not a barracks, though ... I'd like to keep barracks to either MIT or the moai city) ... do we want to put fail gold into the Moai statues or a few turns of overflow into a worker? we should switch production to a workboat when the seventh city's borders pop. Before we found the city should we move the northern warrior just to make sure we're not missing seafood in the fog?
5. Cornell: After the library ... ? I'd really try to avoid emphasizing units but we need to build something while we grow. We still have another turn to decide on this.
6. UIllinois: Continue with workboat, and work the silver asap.
By the way, our seventh city will be "UWashington" for the University of Washington. Next up at #8 is "Princeton."
-------------
Edit: Been thinking more about Berkeley … I guess the question is, do we want it to grow so we can possibly whip an aqueduct later, or will it be ok if it doesn't grow quickly right now? Keep in mind we might need the corn for the 7th city. We could, as I mention, put fail gold into Moai, but it feels wasteful since we don't have stone yet. Still, I'm not sure how much a barracks, library, or lighthouse would really help us out in Berkeley right now as compared to just building gold, and do we want an axe or workboat now and take the unit cost?
Cities, for the start of turn 78. Ten cities for Care Bears, compared to three for Ponies.
I have to say, the expansion rate in this game is a lot faster than what I've experienced or expected. In Pitboss 2, for instance, the Indian team was the first to found five cities …. on turn 78. Here, we already have half the teams with at least six cities, and I honestly think the quality of land in this game is worse than the land in Pitboss 2.
(10) Vicky/India (CB): Turns 28, 37, 42, 50, 58, 59, 75, 75, 78
(8) Pacal/NA (SutOxy): Turn 36, 43, 59, 63, 71, 72, 77
(6) Willem/Ottoman (M & Ast.): Turn 38, 52, 62, 71, 74
(6) Sury/Byz (Us): Turn 33, 50, 58, 66, 76
(6) Isabella/Inca (Yos): Turn 33, 46, 62, 67, 77
(4) Ragnar/Rome (GG): Turn 38, 54, 60
(4) HC/Dutch (Orgy): Turn 42, 56, 67
(4) Mansa/Zulu: Turn 38, 53, 69
(4) Darius/England: Turn 39, 55, 71
(3) Nap/Sumeria (Pony): Turn 49, 63
Is there a way I can format the city information better, e.g., a table?
