Sure - I prefer direct conversations as well. But lets make sure there's a purpose. I've said it before - we would like you guys to be strong. We'd like to help out when we can. If talking about wonders puts your mind at ease, sure let's go for it. But with 8 other teams in the game, there's not much we can achieve by coordinating.

What would it achieve if we promised not to build wonder X? You'd still have to compete with 8 other teams. It's all kind of moot anyway due to dogpiles - do too well and everyone is out to get you. Its a matter of maintaining parity with a team that you can work with to keep things stable.

Of course - I think I said it in our first chat. In order to win we both need to expand in the midgame without getting targeted. So lets coordinate our expansion - our relative positions at that point are irrelevant so long as neither party is too far behind. If OxySut is stronger, we work together to expand such that Eggheads catch up or vice versa if Eggheads are stronger. It's all about the coordination. I'm not aware of any information that we're witholding from you.

You want to be the top team, yes? If you're too strong, everyone else is going to gang up on you and beat you down. But what if there are two "top teams" that are still competing but compete by proxy like the US and the USSR during the cold war. The other teams can't unite - if they all gang up on the US, then the USSR wins. If they all gang up on the USSR then the US wins. So you can be strong and not get dogpiled - all the other teams know that if they dogpile you, they'll just throw the game to us. And vice versa.

We could both work on our own or as part of an alliance, improving our position a little each turn, EXCEPT once one of us gets too strong the other just joins a coalition in a "hot war" to kill or maim the other. On the other hand, we could coordinate our efforts. A "cold war" is where we continue to compete (only one of us can win) but we grow together and work to maintain a balance between. We can be the top two instead of just one of ten. The other eight can't ally against you because otherwise we would win and vice versa. This is called a "bi-polar" system. The Ponies can't do this, for example, they're too small. The Carebears can't do this, they wan't to be a superpower all by themselves. As an aside - why won't Asterix work with you?

All resources are tradeable in Civ4 so there's always an easy solution to one party being in a better position. I assume Asterix won't work with you because he prefers to vassal himself to the Carebears?
