According to the victory screen, we should have #1 population in the world (i.e. total citizens, not what the demographics screen tells us) since Care Bears are second, and I'm pretty sure the three remaining teams we've met don't have as much population as us. So while I'm worried about Care Bears having so many more cities than we do, we're actually getting more per-city right now, and let's hope the trend continues until beyond turn 100. The key is ... can we take advantage of this at some point and prevent Care Bears from snowballing to a win?
Couple of comments on units, workers, cities, etc.
-Team GG doesn't have open borders with anyone? They're seriously compromising their long-term prospects, and I'm worried that they're just playing a troll game here.
-I actually agree in Cornell working the floodplains instead of the copper, so no worries there.Cornell is undefended but we can always whip the spear if needed.
-Exploring chariot to the south: since we have another 'backup' chariot to the north, want to move this chariot (retep?) 4-7 to unfog the last bit of snow there?
-Warrior to our east: move him 1 or 3 next turn? I'd really value being able to see where India is putting their cities, so how about we move him 3 next turn on the hill and then move him right into their borders as soon as possible? As far as I can remember, we don't have a no-scouting clause.
-City #8 (Princeton), I assume, will come via the settler from Carengie Mellon that we'll get by whipping at size 8? We both agree that we want it between Illinois and Cornell, right? If so, let's set up a dotmap for the entire eastern region first, since it should be ours if Care Bears honors their agreement.
-Worker at Illinois: it's fine to delay the chop until mathematics (I suggest roading the forest if so, we might need it).
Two long-term thoughts:
-Since our slider is going to be low for a bit, I suggest that we focus more on workers rather than settlers in our cities for the near future, except for Stanford and Carnegie Mellon, since I think they've already put hammers into them.
-I would really like to get the Heroic Epic set up at some point, so it might be worth it to leave a spot unfogged for barbarians, so we can use a chariot or axe and get it to 10 XP.
Not sure we are 1st at pop. Rivals pop and land rounded down on F8 screen. Still, we are close with CareBears.
India has more potential to grow bigger with forges, religion and furs close.
- Team GG just planted city#5 in some ... hmm creative spot. With ice deer as food, maybe with some seafood also, but still. Its on screenshot from Dinos that Yuufo sent us.
- Chariot, ok. I didn't want to move before GG, cause we double move him if he wants to kill it this turn. But I doubt GG wants to start a war over 1 chariot far away from his land.
- City#8. We'll whip settler 8->5 this turn in CM and regrow to size6 fast. After that Pigs could be taken by MIT again, after worker done there.
- Ok, maybe delay this chop is better overall. I'll cancel it 1 turn from complition and we'll see.
Long term:
- After math done, workers should be faster to get. We still might want couple more cities in 90's. And LP team is silent, like Suttree told me.
- I'm not sure its a good idea to have Archer/Axe/Spear barb close to our borders right now. We have not much protection in our land.
Should we play turn now, before GG and double move him with chariot? We are not at war, but he didn't saw that chariot yet.
