Amphibious attacks can never retreat. EDIT: And this is also why catapults can't attack amphibiously.

Interesting tidbit about RR-ing other people's land, I'll have to test that myself some time. smile

Yup, I'm sure. I wonder if it's different in BTS/RBMod. I was whipping exactly 75 hammers and I know that's caused me problems in the past, but this shouldn't be the case here...

The amphibious retreat thing makes sense I suppose. I'll be glad of it when Mackoti's 10 transports come to say hi. I hope you're all taking bets in the lurker thread on whether Mack is about to pile on, given that he sent a message that could be interpreted as a 60 turn NAP only ten turns ago. I agree with Krill that the whole point of no diplo is to avoid the slow dull game-death that NAPs engender, but I'd really like it if Mack decides not to attack on t252 please. Ten more turns peace with him and we can really throw the kitchen sink at dtay. As it is Commodore is probably a bit unhappy about how much work he's having to do here.

One thing I didn't ask in the report - if we take Hamburg next turn do we artist-bomb it? I have a feeling it won't gain us many tiles, and I think we'd be better off bombing in the east to try and trap his stack of Kannone out in the open. Alternatively do we save him to use against Mack somehow?
