[Spoilers] Old Human Tourist: Empress of Azteca

(July 10th, 2014, 17:53)Old Harry Wrote: I haven't managed to do a proper comparison but the build choice for Nina seems to depend how many workers we're sending to quarry the stone and then plantate the spices - if we can get more than one chop into Nina then Granary->Monument probably works, otherwise we could go Monument or Barracks first for the good of the whole empire...

The whole crew will first shuffle to improve stone and then our workers can rotate to different tasks, most important being the silks. I think the 2nd chop will come in earliest at T102 (or T100 if we just decide to delay stone and move one worker to a forest next turn).. I'll still think about it tomorrow.. Where is our lucky religion spread or event when we need one.. mischief

Quote:I noticed you had a library queued up in Daisy in the sandbox - I guess units aren't all that useful to us given our current strategy, but I think a few spears or a wealth build would be more useful (although if the hammers are in it already you might as well continue...)

Yeah, there are already some hammers in library. I know that you want to see Daisy as a hammer city, but the city will always have gems inside its borders so I think it will be a hybrid nevertheless... bang But yeah, maybe we could build an extra spear there first just for our security? As you also said, I would bet my money that we are good with our current forces, but spears won't obsolete for a while so I don't mind building them too much. Btw, I think libraries will be better for us than in a standard game thanks to Sacrificial Altars. I think we will want to spam SAs pretty much everywhere, which will result in a fairly high break even slider setting (obviously all our conquest and huge army will cost a fortune later.. smoke ).

Our tech speed is actually so good that we are not really even needing wealth builds. As advertised, we are making more than 100 gpt when saving gold and our MFG is ~50, so we could improve our effective tech rate by ~50 %, but in most cities we are much better off by investing in infra/workers/units that support our long term growth and expansion. If a few selected wealth builds bring us CoL a turn earlier then I'm happy to use them of course.

Quote:In more pointless musings: Our cities are all named after Guinea Pigs, but our civilization is still the Aztecs. Is that appropriate because GPs come from South America? We could be called New Guinea. Or the Most Adorable Empire. Or something else. Any ideas?

Ha, sure let's change the civ name! My imagination is always limited so I'm going to rely on you regarding the executive decision.. smile

Hmm.. That would be quite a decent play, if not for Mids then maybe for MoM, Great Library, Taj.. Well, wonders are great, but easy neighbors are even more valuable in a game this big. Let's hope dtay and other players with high score are all bordering each other.. crazyeye
