hindsight's 20/20. if nobody pops their head out of the fog around the capital in the next 5 turns then worker first would have been the right option, but we couldn't have known that at the time. with 16 other teams out there starting with a warrior is the right call. especially since we don't have a "reputation" that might put people off from attacking us. the game isn't won in the first 15 turns, but it can certainly be lost 
on the bright side - having 2 units out there scouting is a definite advantage. we got a raw deal on the scout combat (i think on average he'd come out with 50% health) but at least he's still alive.
our leader/civ combo is a long-term deal. things will look a lot better for us once those cottages go up and we can finance some real city expansion + a push to courthouses
