I'm not going to keep the capital for any longer, but I've only had two cities to ward off Commodore's thirty city, Taj/MoMnster. I took the defenses from this:

To this:

+2 Catapults, +2 Chariots, +2 Barracks, and +1 Walls. The basic aim was to produce 2 units per city every 3 turns, which I think I achieved.
I didn't whip Rogue this turn: I'll wait and see if it becomes my new capital, whip this (or whereever), and then switch into Vassalage for the extra promotions. It's not like the Anarchy will really hurt at this stage.
Still waiting for Yuri to make his move, and then the game should be over (unless he and flug are coordinating somehow).
