I've been in a double GA from Taj and my first GP GA and used it to get to Lib->Military Tradition and I have enough gold to upgrade a bunch of my Knights if needed, but the actual plan is to push towards Rifling and use my tech advantage to kill (or at least cripple) one of Krill or Gavagai (the latter of which is my neighbor now due to him killing OT4E). Of course the problem with that is that those two also happen to be the current strongest players right now in demos (though Krill's tech pace seem to be lacking considering how many cities he has) and I'm struggling to squeeze as many hammers out of my land as possible because I just don't have much of it. Gavagai is in GA too now (with MoM courtesy of France) and he's looking pretty scary as a result.
Gavagai had a short window where he could have really damaged me before I got Lib after he took care of OT4E's core territory, but he seemed content to affirm we were peaceful for now and sit on his conquests and not challenge my muskets and knights/cuirassiers, so in turn I'm content to wait for better units and bet that he or Krill won't have the stuff to respond to it :P
Krill is fighting OH and his demos have been pretty great the whole game, but he's leaving his core territory mostly undefended so if it stays that way I can land a stack of cavalry and knights and maybe secure naval control I think I could blitz his territory before he has a chance to really defend. It would still be hard though and a lot depends on what happens in the following turns. Chances are I'll just leave him alone and bet that taking out Gavagai puts me in an unassailable position, especially if Krill stalls out against OH.
And maybe I can do another actual report for once but every time I think about doing so it just seems to overwhelming. I guess responding to questions like this is enough of a motivating factor for me to at least say something though.
