Okay I updated an old doc I had made last season with the current season's results, along with something that I hadn't included last time: peace weight. And damn is that a good indicator of whether an AI is crummy or not. In fact, the thing those 4 'loser' AI have in common is high peaceweight:

It gets more exacerbated when you compare the AIs by faction. And even more so when you remove the completely insane 0 peaceweight leaders from the evil faction (since they truly are unique AI - Temujin, Alexander, Shaka, Ragnar, Montezuma, etc. are difficult to compare to even the +1 peaceweight AIs like Sury, Mao, or Kublai.)

The two outliers here are Gandhi (a very hit or miss leader) and Mansa Musa (who has been a dud this season and last). Remove them and the high peaceweight leaders look even worse. I think we all knew this, but it really is just a classic case of not building any units and getting rolled by a neighbor (which will typically be an 'evil' leader with a high unit build tendency. Making the outcome pretty one sided). I would like to go back and add a 'deaths' counter next to the 'kills' counter because you could very easily correlate how many times a leader has been killed with their peace weight.
There's also the issue of just how many low peaceweight leaders there are in the game. There's just more of them than there are high peaceweight leaders, so the likelyhood of getting a game that has 4 Evil leaders, 2 Neutral leaders, and then 2 Good leaders is just gonna be high, and the Good leaders are always going to be outnumbered.
