Just finished watching Game 8, and boy was that an interesting one! I'm very proud of my successful Cyrus as FTD pick, although boy did he play that start badly.
The playoff round looks like it will be some interesting matchups - since so many of the big leaders were eliminated opening round, we don't exactly have the most impressive-looking fields. Game One's best leaders are Pacal and Charlemange, and I think some of both's past successes have been pretty flukey. Game Two does have both Willem and JC, but the other three leaders there now have had pretty mediocre performances in the past on the whole (although I personally am a big Asoka fan). Game Three again has both Gandhi and HC, but the other three have not been reliably successful at all. None of the Wildcard leaders look that great to me.
In fact, currently we have a grand total of just six former finalists in the playoff round out of eighteen total! That could get as high as eight depending on how the Wildcard game shakes out. We could definitely have an interesting championship field this season...
