[SPOILERS] Sandover(cre/spi) of Egypt

We seem to be in a bit of a holdup atm. Bummer. I'm off to my GF's place in a few hours so that update may have to wait until next week. Most likely not going to bother uploading screens etc once I'm there. And I'll be there over the weekend.

Am I stubborn enough to refuse loading an old save to take screens? Yes, I am.

So what else then? Well, maybe a summary of my units?

4 Zerglings (warriors)
2 Constructors (workers)

Ok, that went fast. Too fast. Shall we talk about something else?

My general strategy? Nah, nothing new there. I need those screen shots. Expand as fast as possible and kill everyone with Rifles? Sounds like a plan.

Why is it that the turn distribution always fail when I am planning to do something specific at a certain date?

What? Log an old save for screens? I said NO!

I'm sure people would be placated if you post some screens from your GF instead wink
Have a nice weekend.

Hehe.lol Yeah, I can keep myself busy.wink

On another note I just got back home so lets see if I can squeze an update in today anyway (it is long overdue). I found the save in my inbox but I need to get CIV installed first as I've made a computer swap (having a GF who's dad owns an IT-company sure is a treat). I recall having some issues with the BtS patches last time I installed CIV Complete but I figure solving it once should make it easier this time around, even though I cannot remember what the actual problem was.

Time to Catch up

Installation went well. After swearing about the loss of my personalised CIV settings and having cheered myself up messing around with my new version of Paint, I'm finally ready. Here we are, at turn 28.

See that red circle? Why yes, I did pop that Copper mine just a few turns ago! My first ever mine quickly turned into a success story.jive

Also note that Bronze Working revealed Copper at my designated Gold city site in the north. It will be a nice city once I get it up and running, but I want to prioritise settling to my south and east. And now I can do that without feeling the lack of metal! Awesome!thumbsup

Lets have a closer look at Sandoria, shall we?

Ah, my lovely capital. Working those four resource tiles at size 4 makes it a pretty damn good smaller city. The story will be a different one once the presence of those peaks and plains makes itself felt, but it definitly holds the capacity to power me into a strong start. I'm thinking I'll do two more Constructors (workers) next, then slave a Granary and grow back while building a War Chariot as soon as Horse is connected. Or another Settler before that. Not sure.

Moving on. Where's my first settler heading?

I've picked a spot with Horse, irrigated Corn and Pig in the first ring. An experienced eye can quickly tell that this area used to be a starting location. I've toyed with the idea of founding a city with three food resources, making it into a GP Farm and later a Draft Camp. I decided against it though, as that would force me to delay getting Horse. Blue dot will still have a surplus of 10-11F at size 3, so it can easily run a bunch of Great People if I want to go that route. It also has a decent amount of hills for production, not to mention the river, so it will be a really good city.

As indicated by the Yellow Arrow, one of my Zerglings (warriors) will backtrack to make sure the area is clear for my Settler and Constructors. The Zergling in the red circle was attacked by a Bear a while ago and is still healing.

Talking about Zerglings, where's the last one?

Oh right, there he is.

Settling Micro

Turn 30:
- Settler move to Blue Circle.
- Constructors road the tile they are standing on.

Turn 31:
- Settler found city on Blue Circle.
- Constructors use the road to travel through the city and start to farm the Corn right away.

Result: the new city is off to a great start!thumbsup
