Again, though, these are just my preferences, I was hoping for more votes. Gaspar, I trust your thinking enough that whatever you use is fine. Should be an adventure.

So, basically, you're looking for some sort of multiply-blobby continent which groups people together in clumps? Seems reasonable...

Something like Custom Continents and/or using an Archipelago Snaky Continents setting might be better. Ice Age tends to give dry, food poor maps. Not very fun to play on really.

Well, I also don't have a strong opinion on this. I'm sure Gaspar will come up with something interesting smile For me, rolling a Fractal map until you get a Pangaea and making the starts more or less balanced would work just fine - but anything with a twist would work as well!

Ranamar Wrote:As for new players, if any of Silverbear, Roland, and Maestro are still watching this thread and say they want to play, I feel like they should be given an opportunity to take Ichabod's spot.

I am watching, and while I'd eventually like to play a game, I think I'd be more comfortable DLing / teaming up first. I just have zero concept of the time investment required to turnplay and update a thread, so I'm reticent to commit to such. Besides, GES + Roland both expressed interest before me, so the slot is definitely theirs.

If a teamup situation doesn't present itself, I can stay unspoiled in case there is need for a sub or replacement down the line.

I like that idea.

Are we ready for MNG to make his selection?

Also, Gaspar, could you give us a basic outline of the type of map you are planning?

Pangaea or Archipel?

Fertile or Ice Age?

That kind of thing. Would be useful to know before picking.

Well, I'll roll the type of map you want. I've been on the receiving end of a mapmakers excessive creativity, so I'm not going to do that to you, but I do have an inkling of what I want to do.

I guess what I'll say is unless you ask for something specific, I'm not going to give anything especially dry and bleak, and there will be enough water that any civ that utilizes water based UU/UB will get to deploy them. I don't think it particularly appropriate to comment on the value of Organized specifically, which is sort of the other map-maker dependent trait, but if you specifically do/don't want Toroidal, you should let me know that soon, as I'll probably get something rolled later tonight.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Whatever wrap you think works best.

I would suggest running your design by Cyneheard, Krill, and plako if they are willing to look at it. They have lots of experience I think.
