Since apparently people can see each other's traits on turn 1, maybe we should just announce all the combos?

Agreeing. Otherwise the two civs without a third trait gets a little advantage.

I'm afraid I agree. Much as I wish it were hidden, that doesn't seem to be an option.

And, Ichabod, you've had the save for an hour now! I wanna see what you think after you have a chance to scout.

Well, this

is not going to work. All pre-placed monsters on the map are set to be either Elemental or Avatar race, thus non-living and not possible to dominate.

Even if you'd missed that detail - surely Ilios could only rule the ice with Wilboman, and only until someone gets summons/collateral capable of taking him out? And shouldn't he know that already, or at least suspect it? Otherwise we'd be looking at some early eliminations smile.

I wonder if Tholal will think to try that.
The Kuriotates palace supplies both Water and Sun mana.
Clever use of Spring and Scorch could lead to an early elimination by Ice elementals!

Or one of the players could get unlucky with a constellation event, and die that way.

To indulge in C&D:

I would hazard a guess that an expansive player is building a settler at size 3 working the sheep, pig and windmill.
