Last time I checked, it takes 7 turns to research Animal Husbandry. It might go down if other teams have researched it, though. Animal Husbandry->Pottery is the current tech plan.
I'm starting to think that the Gold site might be a better idea. Settling straight into the teeth of our dangerous enemy feels a bit too risky for my tastes. Besides, there's another copper source by SAT. Settle that and let loose the Axes!
I'll think about it more. Surprised Sian hasn't sent the save yet.
...I really hope we aren't making a HUGE mistake...

I think we should settle the Gold site and stuff Archers on the plains hill. We send our second Archer southwest to scout. We revolt into Slavery this turn and start roading to the second city. We try to pop a scout out next turn to head northwest and grow to size 4 the turn after that.
That's the 'abandon copper' plan. Thoughts?

W discovered Bronze Working this turn. It turns out we grow in 2 turns, not 1. I just realized the governor defaulted to working the mine instead of the Ivory. If that cost us a turn of growth... . Too late now. I decided to hold off on revolting to Slavery until the Archer comes out next turn. Animal Husbandry comes in 6 turns, thanks to a lot of overflow from Bronze Working. I decided to move the Archer back to the plains hill forest.
Incidentally, I'm wondering why I haven't seen a message that says 'Tankra has adopted Slavery!' yet. He has Bronze Working and he's Spiritual. There's no reason not to! Maybe I missed it or it didn't show up for whatever strange reason.
As for Workers: I feel we should use them to road to whatever city we decide on building. Pretty simple.
A few interesting Demographic screens:
Still tops in Soldiers. The accidental swapping to the mine cost us first place in Crop Yield. Man, someone is really cranking the hammers.
Look at all that glorious food, while Tankra's still at 2 food per turn. Also, Tankra's working the plains hill forest, plus his 2 hpt on the city tile to get 5hpt. I wonder if his Power increase is from discovering a military tech or from building a Dog Soldier.
Nicolae definitely grew to Size 3.
Still leaning towards the gold site. Wheat and Gold should keep our workers occupied until the Cows come in.

The biggest news was that I revolted to Slavery as planned. The newly completed Archer is headed to scout out the southwest. I moved both of my Workers back to the capital space to prepare to road to the gold site. I think that the benefits of that copper site are outweighed by the downsides. Either we don't have copper first ring, or we have a forward plant that's difficult to defend, or we have a flatland city.
We're probably going to build a one-turn Scout next turn to start scouting the arctic tundra to the northwest. My current guess is that our horse supply is to the northwest. Plus, we really need to see if SAT's settled their copper. We could also try building an Archer and choking them, but I'm not sure ticking off both of our neighbors is a good idea at this point.

geez, we are number one in military AND have the biggest city at size 3 (should be size 4).
this tells me, despite the small cramped map, everyone is building workers and settlers. So we can either follow suite or attack, quickly.
Anyway I'm fine with the PH city or the gold city (we need both soon anyway) - I just don't like the tundra hill city. How soon until we have the settler?

Settler comes out T27. Grow t25,whip t26. Not sure if that's good or not. That's about T40 Normal speed. I think the border security is worth whatever growth we've lost. Two big plans are expanding like nuts with Expasive Workers or conquering Tankra with Chariots. Off chance of SAT Axe rush.

Yeah, I like the Destroyed theme too. I really like how our tiles say '100% Destroyed'

how many archers do we have now? we might be able to settle the gold first if we have enough archers to defend it, and hold the PH. just build archers to regrow and shed unhappy, then whip out another settler.
sucks AH won't be done by then time the settler's ready to plant.

We have two Archers, and more will be built when we regrow. Put 14/40 hammers into a Worker, whip for 2 pop, and get 24 hammers of overflow. Add Settlers, chops, and Archers as needed, cottage/hire Scientists everywhere, and hope for the best.
Well, we have Mining and Agriculture, so we'll have enough to do until Animal Husbandry comes in.
According to Sareln's combat calculator, one Archer has about a 75% chance of surviving against two Dog Soldiers. Assumptions: We have full fortify, the Archer is standing on a forest hill, and all units are unpromoted. This also doesn't account for first strikes.
I was messing with the save, and I found this:
SAT settled the city of Geometry! (Ignore the research and production bar, we're in Anarchy. Also, if I've violated some PBEM rule here, please let me know.)
