Very well. If we are to move in a certain order I agree that Lucas-Anya-Niall-Robern is the way to go.

Can my "flare" spell be used to produce light as well ?
Reply

Flare sure produces light, but in the "dazzling flash wrecking vision for a bit" way.

Not really, its instantaneous, no duration, so doesnt really help

I vote for Lucas-Niall-Anya-Robern, as I understand it Nial has some experience with weapons so this order balances out the ability of our party to fight on the front lines.

'Yes, if it comes to it, I would be at my best doing sword work. I will go second.' Niall hefts his blade such that it shines over Lucas' shoulder, as suggested.

Is the rear of the cavern a steep drop or just an incline?

Incline.

As you walk down the steep and winding incline, you notice ancient rune marks along the walls, similar to those on the standing stones above. After a couple hundred twisting feet, the cave widens again slightly and two dark passages loom; the leftwards one looks to be going straight, while the rightward one seems to be going down even more precipitously; rough wooden planks seem to act as crude stairs.

Perception roll to notice details about the two passages.
Knowledge (history or religion) to note more about the runes on the walls.
