Sorry, I forgot you had said that about how much XP Azza would generate. In that case there's no sense delaying then I guess, just attack when you're ready (and hopefully Krovice will follow!).

Turn 168: T-minus 2
Met Wetbandit, Settled Terry, whipped Triremes in E, I, M, N, O, P, R, S, T and U, all but Upland Cress will complete as Frigates or have 60 hammers in to be 1-pop whips next turn . I wonder if whipping fifteen pop points the turn we get Chemistry will ring any alarm bells for dtay? These Rifles are making naval success look less likely. But we can still do some damage with pillaging and blockading and making him keep building units is good too... Its pretty unfair that he isn't an AI though . Cynheard's gifted workers will let us know what's happening on the Pindi-dtay front lines - look who else had the same idea! We have a lot of folks graphs right now, so I thought you might like them:

Man, I'm really married to my job at the moment Really sorry for low level of contribution
Those rifles look bad, but I hate the idea of just letting dtay consume pindicator without any disturbance. I much prefer the scenario where we + Krovice + pindicator pressure dtay from all sides. We kind of need Rifling ourselves although I'm willing to consider Grens too now that we are getting Chemistry. Plan B is to backstab pindicator and/or Cyneheard, but that does not seem too attractive until they have suicided their armies somewhere. Let's give BGN a Christmas present.
Hey, no worries, hope its interesting stuff.
If nothing else we've obsoleted the Colossus and made dtay build Rifles instead of infra. Hopefully Krovice will pile on after our initial assault and allow us to disengage from the battle at some point. Dog-piling dtay is become an RB theme... I think Mil Sci is the best next tech after Chemistry (and any upgrades we decide we need). Grenadiers would get better odds against his coastal cities than our Cuirs will, it allows our commando plan and SOTL will let us keep naval dominance for a little while longer as well. I'm thinking that settling on that island as a naval staging point (for upgrades and healing) is worth the risk (its a very vulnerable target if he can slip one Galleon past us).

Well this is weird, Pindicator declared on us. Why? The upshot is our scouting workers won't be able to find out what dtay is up to. It's possible that this is supposed to make dtay think we're targeting Pindi, but if I accept then he won't think that.
This is the turn of decision TM. Down south we have three Amphi Cuirs and six non-Amphi Cuirs, we should be able to take Lorwyn, then fork Mercadia, Murganda and later Rath. In the middle we can attack with two amphi Cuirs and an amphi Pike. Ravnica isn't going to fall, but there is a chance that we could take Pyrulia, if we don't then we can borrow some units from the north... North (Stage C) - We have two amphi Cuirs and two non-amphi Cuirs. Taking Regatha probably isn't possible, but they could help out with Pyrulea. North (Stage A and B) - We have six Amphi Cuirs. Avendale isn't vulnerable, we can't reach Bell Preston, Ryan is empty (I'm a bit annoyed I didn't load a cheap unit for that city ) and Avernum's units, althogh injured are probably too much. On the second turn of the war we can threaten the straights, although dtay has some Triremes (which we can't hit) that he'll be able to upgrade to Frigates t171 and attack us on t172. So I'd expect to kill Ryan, Pyrulea and Lorwyn at a cost of ~6 units, then fork 6 currently under-defended cities. I'll probably go for it in about 6 hours, but happy to hear arguments against...

Obviously when I say go for it I mean put everything in position to attack next turn.
Also, Pindicator is an idiot.

If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.
I write RPG adventures, and blog about it, check it out.
Did Pindicator do something else too? He might have declared war to get your scouts out because he thought you were looking for an opportunity to snipe from him (he can see your ships heading to Stages A and B).
I'm not sure you'll be able to get at those three under-defended cities - he might counterattack the injured units at Lorwyn with the contents of Ravnica and destroy them. That's not really an argument against enacting the plan, because that's still a remarkably cheap cost for razing those cities. Even if not, he'll be able to bring down the units in Tarkir, Prairie Village, and Avendale to help hold his back lines here. So I'd still do it, just with the recognition that there are not likely to be more results from it than those achieved on the first turn. Edit: And hopefully it will spur Krovice into action too. After this, I'd focus on building naval supremacy so we aren't threatened and dtay has to invest in defence, and so we can take advantage of any further opportunities that may present themselves (but I believe this is already the plan). |
