If you have a half an hour, I highly recommend watching this Warrior Control Mirror between Tides of Time and Monk from Deck Wars today. Absolutely insane ending.

Man, these commentators are even worse than the poker ones.

Yeah, twitchchat for that particular mostly consisted of people correcting the commentators. They are horrendous.

Koyuki0 has great analysis but he's not very animated/enthusiastic so he comes off as boring. The other guy (chanmanv?) tries for enthusiasm but is not very good at the game so he'll just rattle off terrible plays. My favorite was one match where a Druid going second had Ancient Watcher, Innervate, and Keeper in hand and the Chanmanv said 3 times that he didn't have anything worthwhile to innervate. That's the dream hand for innervate!

And twitch chat is just awful (no surprises there).

FWIW, I generally find games like the end of that Warrior Control mirror boring as hell - its why I can't play or watch Priest without reaching for the razor blades. But the stakes were high so it was entertaining. Also Tides is a really interesting guy to watch because he makes so many plays that I would never think of making.

Got to Rank 8 with a deck that would drive Gaspar suicidal (it even has Mind Vision, a card that does NOTHING AT ALL). Absolutely everything is golden here, including legendaries; came up against a golden Rag and a golden Velen today. I guess if you get a golden Velen, you have to run him. And craft a set of golden blademasters and soulpriests to match.

I have a feeling I might level out at this rank, the standard of play is such that I spot blunders only about as often as I make them myself. Of course, streaks might push me higher.

Velen is legit as a priest finisher, apparently! There's a guy, Zetalot on Twitch who at one point was rank 2 legendary with a priest deck with Prophet Velen and Mind Blasts as a finisher to become like 2 mana pyroblasts to the face.

I think I was up against something similar, as I thoughtstole a mind blast from that deck. Velen definitely does wonders for the Holy Fire and the Nova too I barely managed to win that one, unloading a holy fire and the stolen mind blast in one turn, and then a Soulpriest, Earthen Ring Farseer (face), Hero Power (face) and Holy Smite (face) on the next.

Mind blast etc. is good against warlock due to life tap. Basically against aggro warlock these guys play wild pyro and wipe the board, play soulpriest with circle of healing and wipe the board, warlock life taps to get cards and gets killed by spells. It doesn't always work out that way...

Yeah, against Wurloc you pretty much have to draw Soulpriest+Circle or Pyro+Coin+Spell within the first 4 turns or you are dead. But if you have cleared the board, you can kill them with pretty much anything.

Notice the clock.. You can't just quit when you're on a winning streak!!

Does anyone know why Warrior is pretty much out of popularity right now? I haven't seen one in months.
