I totally understand busy stretches, but the last time one hit me unexpectedly I handed over my game and took a lengthy break from civ.
I understand the frustration. I would never, ever sign up for a game on this site because it's just not at all realistic for anyone other than a college student to be able to dedicate time every day to a video game, especially REM who I think is a working parent from his posts. He almost quit the game once before. His biggest mistake may be in not having a teammate, like Sulla who can fill in for you on a limited basis.
IIRC a big majority of players on this site are over 30 years old and/or working professionals. It's really not to squeeze out some time for yourself to do what you want to do (assuming you're not in some sort of crunch-time scenario), considering time spent playing pitbosses doesn't need to be contiguous, or uninterrupted, or in some special area, or whatever. Think about your turn on the drive home from work, and play it on your lunch break just for a reason to get the hell out of the office. Or watch less TV. I mean, hell, Sulla posted earlier in this thread that he played some turns from his freaking cell phone - how much more accessible does it get?
I don't think REM has trouble finding a bit of time every day, but a bit of time just ain't enough to cover 4 late-game pitbosses, one of which he controls like 60-70 cities or something like that. Hopefully he'd try to find a sub for PB30/PB31 before he would bail on this game, as the leader abandoning ship pretty much kills the game.

Turn rolled, and I had 5 mins to take a pair of screenshots before work.
REM didn't bother attacking, and I don't think he plans to do so after seeing our reaction force. I think he's just going to keep these units parked here to tie down some of our own units. I'll have to take a closer look at this and figure out how many units we need to leave over here, because we likely need to return a few units east.
REM repositioned to defend against Dreylin. The tanks and cavs are also conveniently positioned to kill Zipper if he wants, so I'll have to add some units to that to compensate.
I was in a hurry, so I missed a screenshot of the pindicator area, but REM has more or less withdrawn from that area, so it'll be very easy to shuffle units north if need be. I don't think Dreylin will be able to attack REM really. REM has plenty of units up here to kill just about anything Dreylin could advance with. Not really sure what Dreylin will do then.

I don't want to dwell on it and clog up Scooter's thread, but it not realistic for me personally to put aside an hour or so for games every day for several months. Between taking care of a baby, doing work, fixing things around the house, doing lawn work, making time to have a marriage, etc., there are just too many things out there and I know that many others are in the same boat. If I took an hour to do nothing I think my wife would punch me in the face. But then I didn't sign up for this game.

It's not that bad. The turns right now take me about 40-60 mins total of in-game time, and I get a new turn once every 3-4 days. When the turn has rolled during the day, I often split that time across a day and a half. All in all I probably spend 3 hours a week on this game, which isn't really that much if you spread it out (average 25 minutes a day). My work schedule is also very consistent 95% of the time (and it's slow during the summer), so that's not an issue. Now, if I was playing 3 other PB at once, yeah I can't even imagine how tough that would be. There's a reason I'm not signed up for the Ren game that's forming right now, and it's not lack of interest.

Speaking of that, I wonder if Sullla plans on playing in that. Would love to see the long rumored Ren. start terror he is.

Lovely. Civstats suggests that Donovan declared and captured a Dreylin city. Donovan's army is small so it's probably not very consequential, but anything that distracts Dreylin's attention is not ideal for us.
Not that I would blame Donovan for a revenge play if that's what this was about.

Thanks for the praise antisocialmunky, but I didn't play very many Renny games. That was Speaker's bread and butter, and he's retired from Civ now between work and his family. For that matter, just being scooter's partner in this game is plenty of time commitment without trying to add another game. Thanks though.
Yeah, I don't blame Donovan for trying to get some revenge against Dreylin. That's one reason why I wanted us to get some more units over in Aspirin, since we were pretty wide open to attack for a little while there. Anyway, I think our course is still clear. We've been playing after Dreylin for a while now, so we watch to see if Dreylin does anything about REM, and if he continues to do nothing, then it's time to sue for peace and start grabbing pindicator cities. Scooter has done a magnificent job keeping us safe for the last 5-6 turns, as we've been facing down REM without much help, but this war is hurting us a lot. Dreylin went from being well behind to being equal in tech due to his peace + Golden Age. If REM is shifting units away from pindicator right now, then so much the better.
Again, I don't think making peace with REM is a winning move - I think it's a losing move to be honest - but fighting 1 vs 1 against REM is even more of a losing move.

Jumped in real quick to see what happened between Dreylin and Donovan.
Er, they're still in enforced peace.
So this is a culture revolt? Sure looks like it. Why did this happen mid-turn rather than at turn roll? The points change didn't happen until Donovan logged in. Actually, I'm not even sure why there was a points change to begin with - the city didn't change hands. Any ideas? Here's the Civstats log.
Code: 7/25/16 1:00 pm Donovan Zoi Logged out
7/25/16 1:00 pm Donovan Zoi Finished turn
7/25/16 12:56 pm Donovan Zoi Score decreased to 1209
7/25/16 12:51 pm Dreylin Score decreased to 2462
7/25/16 12:51 pm Donovan Zoi Score increased to 1217

I dunno why but I started laughing maniacally after I looked at the screenshot for a moment.
