That was a show about a HELOCOPTER that took place on the SCREEN, right? I never watched it.

pindicator, Airwolf was an 80s/90s US action TV show of mediocre quality in the Knightrider/A-Team school of 'gadget-heavy mercenary justice.' In fact, though for all I know it actually predated one of the other shows, but I could absolutely see the pitch meeting as "it's the car from Knightrider but the motley crew from The A Team...and it can fly. I don't remember anything at all about the human crew, but the helicopter was some sort of sleek black civilian model which in the conceit of the show had all sorts of cool weapons and upgrades.

Given I don't remember enough about the show to associate any words related to the crew or setting, and given I just mentioned last round that Screen is typically a catch-all of movie/TV references, that seems pretty solid to me too. Also whoever points to Screen (or something else, but I have nothing else with an association) remember to pass too

So I have been a trumpet player for half my life but I don't think Azoth could've known that.

BAND and OPERA are clear, and I like JAM session as well. Nothing else looks too likely.

BAND is obvious. JAM is likely, a jazz band would have a trumpet in a jam session.

I have a bad feeling about OPERA though, that doesn't seem like a word that would get you thinking of Trumpet as a clue. I like ANGEL for the third word - they characteristically play a trumpet specifically and not other instruments. If you were trying to link Band - Jam - Angel, Trumpet is exactly how you would do it.

Oh yeah, I could see ANGEL as well, I think of their instruments as just horns, technically buisines. I still prefer OPERA though, and I think it's no worse than gray.

Why would you think of any instrument at all to link Band - Jam - Opera? Just cluing Music would do it, or something like Song or Tune.

The fact that the clue is an instrument at all, and a trumpet specifically, has to be pointing to something more specific after Band + Jam, and Angel fits that perfectly.

That said, I do see the logic that Opera is no-worse-than-gray, and if it is, then we tell Azoth that Angel is our +1.

Yeah that’s fair, though one reason would be to avoid TAP by not clueing more generally. Maybe Vocalist or Alto or Tenor, for both the sung part and the saxophone.

I might also just be playing from habits from live Codenames, where there’s less room for this kind of deliberation on the spymaster’s part.
