I don't think we would beat a Fishing start to GLH because they can go for a BW+sailing research start allowing them to begin GLH much earlier than anyone else. It's also probable that they'll want to make a quick start on GLH, because there's an IND team and India in the game.
I am in favour of settling 1SW if our scout doesn't turn up something good. uberfish Wrote:I don't think we would beat a Fishing start to GLH because they can go for a BW+sailing research start allowing them to begin GLH much earlier than anyone else. Cause you still need masonry to do GLH and Vikings don't start with mining. superjm Wrote:You mean building the initial lighthouse sooner than anyone else? If they settle coastal though, the 3 commerce from fish will still get them to GLH tech reqs faster than us.
So, 78 with the Scout, nothing in the fog we do a 1, Settle with the Settler and start a Worker while working the floodplain and not selecting a tech. Any objections?

First order of business is to check if the corn is freshwater, and maybe do a better fogreading.
I have to run.
Commodore,
Can we get an updated screenshot of our starting location so we can perform more witchcraft? It might save everyone time if you just defog all the perimeter tiles for us .I don't think we should scout the Corn, because I don't think it will change our settling decision. Would we still not settle to the SW? Darrell
Just move the mouse pointer over the corn to see if it is irrigated. Might not change anything, but worth to know.
Not near my game computer, but no harm in saying it; corn is dry.
