AT loves it when a plan comes together!! [Spoilers]

yeah - I'm guessing that guys who want to hurt someone look elsewhere, as long as I don't make myself an obvious target.

hmm.. is having stonehenge and being near last in soldier's making me an obvious target???

played 2 turns (I rolled it over)

In turn 58, the only notable thing was:

Well, 2 things notable:

A hut
And that's a peninsula, so that site is mine - cornflakes will probably be able to go where my scout is, but I get that little peninsula. We will see if we are happy about that wink

Turn 59

Auto-religion spread!! 40 hammers saved! yay! Not switching religions yet (don't need the happy)

It does start begging the question of what I research after hunting. Could go poly->monotheism and get OR. Could go writing->alpha and hope to trade for OR. Still unsure here...

GNP is highly culture inflated, of course. I am getting 12 cutlure from stonehenge, monuments and religion now - but still, I'm doign well.

Cities:

[Image: t59ateam.JPG] will grow to 5, then switch to a settler.

First Dog rolls off the line. Archer next. (Might as well get some of those good archers and get 'em some experience in the wilds.... wonder how cornflakes would react to a stack of 20 archers showing up? well, probably with a stack of swords and just kill 'em, of course...

Jowy defense:

I'm thinking this might be a good fort city against Jowy...

Turn 60:

Got archery and a dog and my power rating went from last to 2nd (haha)

Guess no one is looking to rush me wink

In rivals news:

Azza got writing, cornflakes settled his 4th city (he's not even expansive!!)

Overview of the civ - I'm roading and pasturing.

ATeam

7 turn settler - though I'll get it in 6 with a whip

MASH

Building a workboat for my city up north, then will either build an archer for barb defense or a settler for the commerce site. Dunno which yet.

Block off Joey site looks good, but lets scout 2W onto the other hill. You might find something better.

CG2 Archers + a couple of spears and that city shouldn't fall to anything less than a full out invasion (pre-catapults). In any event a city SW of the pigs would fill out the land nicely.

If we can find some food there, I think that this might take priority over almost any other city location. But it might make Joey desperate.

That penisula is really good. Probably get 2-3 cities there and that lake is freshwater! Great for a financial.

Just a question about your GNP. Not to nitpick, I just want to make sure that I understand the GNP correctly. In A-Team I see +8 for Stonehenge + 1 Totem + 1 Buddism and in MASH I see (+1 Totem, +1 Buddism +4 Holy Land) = 16. So that would put your GNP around 34 to rival best 38 (assuming that they had no culture). Is that how you see it? Regardless, I don't think that you need to be concerned with GNP at this point in the game.

Also, topic for discussion: This might be multiplayer folly but would the Drill line promotion be useful in the catapults era? Drill 3 looks like -40% collateral with 4 FS. A CG would likely take the first hit from any 2-movers. Generally, I don't see hardly any Drill promotions but it seems like it at least has the potential for use.

If we can also land Channel city, I think that you'd have a nice, reasonably defensible piece of land. Being on both sides of that lake might be a defensive nightmare but it would stop the capital from being boated. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Small Point: Channel city is not possible with Clams-Cows. So 1 north for the fish-ivory? Math gives you the fort right?

Can you move the (scout?) on the block Joey site to see if the other hill has more food? Might want to move it carefully 1 space at a time to avoid a surprise barb right next to the hill.

Good to see that you've closed the food gap somewhat! 12 food deficit down to 9. Also, you might want to consider NOT running binary research. That 57 GNP might make you a target despite your advantage being largely from culture. Just an innocent, slow start financial civ,...

Man, this start is pretty exciting. Huge food, 3 luxaries, financial, Stonehenge + religion for imminent shrine + chokepoints with nearly protective archers.

yes, that is true. We need some better eyes up there, including figuring out if Azza is going to cut us off from ivory or not (would suck if he did and then gave phants Jowy to kill us with)

The scout is healing right now, so I figure i'll wait till a few more turns. But that other hill might be a much better block, as it's not boatable by Jowy (at least from that sea), so it's more secure from his core. I'll take a better pic of the western area.

MASH gets to grow, build a WB and then another settler. I'm beginning to think we should go west after Commerce - marble is basically back fill -it's a good site, but there's no way Jowy is coming that way and cutting off his expansion route to ivory might be important...

Not that much has been happening, so I haven't been updating that much. My scout exploring the eastern peninsula ran into a barb warrior, so turned back, so not a lot more info there.

If you look at the pic from turn 60, you note one fogged tile near the cap. I figured I should unfog that, in case it was, i dunno, gems or gold or copper+cow or something equally awesome.

it turned out to be:

Corn. (I unfogged the red circled tile) So, now I have to decide whether to move clam/cows - I think I won't - that's still a place with a lot of food and fish/pig/corn makes one hell of a GP farm.

If I keep it there, I get 5 hills (2 of which are shared with the cap), clam, cow and 1 lake tile, for a total of 8 extra food. Hills take up 5 of that, so i can't run a lot of workshops.

If I move it over, i get clam, cow, corn and 2 lake tiles, for a total 13 extra food, which means a lot more workshops. Hmm..

Settler in 4 (3 if I whip - I could 2 pop whip now, but I don't wanna)

Next turn, btw, the scout over on the "block off Jowy" hill will be healed and I'll continue my exploration out that way, see what there is to see.

Definately want to move Cow-Clams 1 West.

Down the road its a monster city 1W, but I think that its even more important to get that food online ASAP. If we can spare it this city can double as settler/worker pump betweem military builds and take the pressure off of the capital to build workers/settlers.

With this much food and production, it'll allow other cities to focus on commerce. It's just going to rocekt'll rocket up to happy cap of 9 or whatever.

Only downside is that it steals more of Lakefish's tiles, but I think that that's acceptable.

E-E-E-E-N of Cow-Clams-Corn is my new favourite Moai location. A couple of forests + borrow the cows for some production and it might be produced in semi-reasoanble time.

W-W-W-W of Cow-Clams-Corn for a reasonble commercial site down the road? Allows either Block-Joey
site.

#3. Cow-Clams-Corn
#4. Commerce
#5. Block Joey
#6. Repositioned Channel City for ivory.
Lower priority? Horses/Marble/lakeFish

Man, we're stretching. This might be too aggressive, but it'll be awesome if it works. Serious settler/worker/archer spam; crash economy; recover.
