When do we find out which civ we are using. Sorry, I know this takes time. I am excited and want to start planning my awfully awful plan to win . Is there going to be a friendly banter thread, or is diplo, not allowed until contact in game, and is there general guidelines for a PBEM that I should read somewhere.

For full disclosure: I rolled a map with 7 starts (by mistake) and folded the two (sets of neighbors) with the least land into each other.
There has been more editing to the map, but not to health/happiness resources or the land/sea - only things like features, he'll terrain, mana, and mithril have been altered.
Like a mirrorland map, there are several ruins remaining, but most will have minimal (if any) effect on the game (things like city ruins and forts.

The map is still being checked, but there.are a few settings that need deciding:
1. Game difficulty,
2.Player order
3.Something else I've forgotten that those with more experience in pbems will point out in the first 10 turns forcing a restart.

Player order will have to do with time zones. I'm US Central, which I believe is GMT-5?

Monarch difficulty sounds reasonable. Sounds like a largeish map? So I guess that'll affect maintenance, but I don't know how EitB compares to BtS in that regard.
