On spies. I'm fine with both (spies and no spies) so long as we have at least EP spending.

Incidentally, I will be joining up on Team Charriu as a dedlurker. I think I've randomly clicked on a few spoiler threads sometime in the last week since no one had reached out to ask me to dedlurk, but I truly have no recollection of what they said.

Turn speed: 24 hours/turn (ingame clock adjusted to keep turns to 24 hours)
Vassals: off
TT: off
Huts: off
Events: off (broken)
Barbs: on, normal (Not raging)
Espionage: on
Diplo: AI-diplo
Double moves: Don't be a jerk aka normal RB double move rules. If in doubt or a newb, ask the lurkers.
Other:
* No city gifting or trading
* No using trade window to communicate (e.g. using letters or numbers in a way that could be interpreted something else than a real trade offer) (no strong preference on this)

Map Trading: Paper, if allowed, perfectly fine without map trading
Blockades: Whatever, I think they were made palatable in RtR

Snake pick is easy and that's fine with me.

EDIT: Fine with whatever version of RtR that needs to be played.

We can't know which version until we decide on the rules, and from what some people are asking, we might have to create a new one specifically for this game.

(That isn't too difficult -- it's much easier than making the map, for the straightforward changes being suggested.)

We're going to use 2.0.8.3. There might be a minor change or two regarding map trades and whether spies can be built. Otherwise, the settings will be the same.

Have you decided on snake pick? When you also have decided on other important settings that might affect your picks, I can create a picking order and post your BFCs in spoiler threads. I assume you want to see your BFCs before picking a civ and a leader.

Doesn't look like there are any objections to snake pick. We're still discussing minor settings, but meanwhile it would be great if you could roll an order and assign BFCs, so we can start simming and planning.

Wow that's really fast. Would it be possible that we setup a testgame so that I can test if I can connect to the server/game? I'm back home tomorrow and could test it then.

I echo everything said. Huge thanks for the map (wow that was fast!), but would also want to connect to a test game first. Could try tomorrow or today (anytime this week really).

What about ghostpants and my request for a testgame? We don't want to delay the start because of any technical problems on our side, that we could have fixed. Or is this a bad idea and why?

A testgame should be easy to set up. You'll need to contact one of those who have access to the server, such as Old Harry or Xenu.
