Axes to right of them,
Axes to left of them,
Axes behind them,
Let's go get some bbq and get busy!
Thanks for reminding me of that poem and Fresh Prince episode, intended or not.

Axes to right of them,
Axes to left of them,
Axes in front of them
Chopped and hewed;
Stormed at with bronze and wood,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of hell
Rode the six hundred.

I don't have any updates to express my gratitude for the poetry of De la Ghetto and T. Hoth, esq. So have a demos screen I guess:
Now, I know what you're thinking. "Naufragar, are you sure the 42nd ranked GNP should be chasing religion?" That's quitter talk.
My power looks low but it's competitive with the neighborhood. Over at Civforum, Maugitar gave me the good advice to go for the nearby pig, since that's good but contested land. I think I will. I'm trying to hatch a plan to grab the mainland horses out to my west. For that I would want a few more units.
Crop Yield is the story of my game so far. Utter trash. By the time the capital finishes building the settler, I'll have pastured my pig. I've already pastured my cows, so that CY number takes that into account.
Religion would be very, very good to grab, but it's so damn far out. Other than that, I don't really know how I get back into this.

Aztecs apparently being allergic to seafood doesn't help the crop yield. Especially when sharing food already.

As you can see from last turn's screenshot, I'm teaching the people to eat rocks.

I guess that's what the religion is for. Need something to convince them eating rocks is preferable to crab.

Why are events on?
Actual report to come later maybe.

My settler is on the move. Apologies. I don't feel up to much commentary. I thought about moving the city site marked at the X one tile north. Decided against it. I would like to compete for some of those grassland river tiles with Suite (of the Spiritual Madrassas). Green river tiles and 6f resources are needed. Two turns ago someone (Der Graf/Gilgamesh?) built the Great Lighthouse, so my attempt at Judaism grows yet more ridiculous. Don't care.
My scout found somebody out East.
If there isn't another player directly south of the orange one, I promise to cut my whining by 15%.

Free city!
And 5xp for the axe if I ran the numbers right. Of course, I still expect an opponent in the Southeast. And the barbs avoided first ring food tiles perfectly, but I'm not complaining. This is an unequivocal instance of good fortune.
Wild, wild horses. But Aspi dragged them away.
As you can see, I've given up on Monotheism. I'm still conflicted about it. Please be gentle. (Also please don't mock the city builds. I know they are bad. )
