Yes I do know the American slang for genitals.

LP is such a liar.
Quote:ASM: So, how many NAPs do you have?
lordparkin: Hi there
lordparkin: A few, mostly short, why do you ask?
lordparkin: I expect everyone does...
ASM: define short
ASM: if you would
lordparkin: Forgive me for wondering your intentions in asking this in a somewhat hostile manner
lordparkin: short = have to either renew soon or start planning for war
ASM: forgive me but that seems more binary than what I'm used to seeing out of you
lordparkin: um, ok...
lordparkin: When you hit someone up for chat by immediately asking a bunch of demanding questions, it doesn't exactly instill good faith.
lordparkin: Why do you want to know?

Lord Parkin Wrote:New NAP table:

Moogle - T185
Nakor - T200
Plako - T200
Luddite - T210
Rego - T250
Mackoti - (theoretically) permanent

There's no way in the world Adlain will ever be attacking us (nor us him, probably), so a NAP with him doesn't particularly matter. The only player who has consistently refused to sign a NAP with us is Locke, although he claims that he hasn't signed them with any of the larger nations (Rego/Plako in particular).

Cyneheard Wrote:No: LP has a clear reason: He has a FULL set of NAPs, which is how he's going to build the Taj before getting ARCHERY.

Barring some massive blunder or backstab, he's already won with his diplomacy.

"This is the south, on the border with locke. I need to figure out an arrangement with him. I might just let him settle all that land, since I don't feel like sending settlers far away into the jungle. I'll ask him for dye, though."

Isn't this a pretty horrible idea? It doesn't seem like Luddite has the land to win and he's thinking of just giving away his expansion options for...Dye? Am I missing something?

He can't defend that area...nor can he afford to expand over there, nor does he have hte workers to make them productive.

Don't forget to mention that there are zero food resources in the area, and the nearest irrigation source is something like 5 farms away. Oh, and there's a patch of hills/peaks that completely break any irrigation chains.

Actually, it depends how you dot map that area. There are 2 sugars at the far end near Adlain, and that single rice, but you could also steal the rice from Luddites' peninsula. Yes, the east of that land should get irrigated, but it's nothing like this:

You guys might like to look at how this map evolved from the very start...just to see how much work went into it.

I got a good kick out of this lol. Indeed, rego is uncertain but did figure out who plako was alluding to (and, indeed plako should have just stated it outright)!

I mean seriously, how do you respond to something like that? Obviously the NAP breaking hasn't happened because Plako was calling the shots, but... man, what a warmonger this guy seems to be. That or he just talks big. But it seriously sounds like he has absolutely no respect for existing deals, and judging from his naked aggression towards us in chats, it seems like he'd declare war in a heartbeat if he was calling the shots. Have to keep an eye on that one.

antisocialmunky Wrote:As much as I hate to say it, I don't think busting LP up is the way to go on this one. Its too much against the flow of things and requires not getting screwed over by other players and we have no advantage unit wise because this is civ. We have a fairly decent culture advantage though +25% is huge.

So why not leverage peace with LP instead, have our flank secured and go full bore with winning? Hide behind his run-awayness and just turtle for a culture win.

plako Wrote:I think military road is the way to go.
You're right it probably doesn't give us win. Fun factor is way higher though and LP's way of playing has really annoyed me to the point I just want a war.
antisocialmunky Wrote:I find it somewhat fitting if we get our revenge by getting peace and using his own BS against him to sneak out a culture win but that's just me.
LP's conclusion is reasonable, yet exactly backwards.
