And that is the primary reason to leave out any NAP rules. . I think if we want to propose the hot potato/king of the hill game, it should stay simple, pretty much just the yellowed part.
Alternately, we could simply propose a normal game. I'm sure we haven't seen everything yet.
I guess the question is when we think we've a good enough idea to expose it to everyone - I think RG's the only one who's sacrificed his dedlurkers, so most everyone won't see our thoughts here.

Another option (and one I'm interested in) would be to use the "Advanced Start" option to give each player some points to spend on cities/units/techs/tile improvements. Definitely not the "quest" idea you guys have been floating around, but it would be something different.

As another RG ex lurker, I thought I would chime in here and express interest in the king of the hill approach to a new FFH game, think it would add an interesting tactical change as to how quickly players felt ready to tackle the big fort

So that makes three game ideas potentially outstanding at the moment - a King of the Hill/Hot Potato game, an Advanced Start, and it looks like DaveV's getting a lot of interest in a CTON-esque game as well.
Personally my inclination is to sign up for the CTON game and keep these other ideas in reserve for 15 and beyond. We were interested in CTON anyway, and that one would presumably be a somewhat lesser time commitment.
Maybe we could propose one of the other ideas in a few months when 7 is actually ended and 14 is well underway. I'd expect a lot of people to be free about then, as 6 and 11 are both moving quickly as well.
Or, for that matter, maybe I could offer to make a King of the hill map for others to play in .

For the 3? lurkers who will see this - Gaspar and MBTM seem pretty set on the king of the hill game if we can find people to play against. So we'll let the CTON game get started, then propose this one soon afterward.

Back on this game, here's the latest from Brian:
Quote:Rawwking, Gaspar,
Any ideas re a dogpile? I'm ready to fully commit when my NAP is up (or next best date), but to be honest if we are not willing to commit to trying something I'll probably concede before the save comes back to me 3 more times.
Brian.

Couldn't hurt to sign on. I think. The main question is whether he's an agent provocateur, he seems to be trusting Kyan pretty well.
I had the impression we were clear on Kyan in our first e-mail, that we're happy to dogpile

Quote:Hey Brian,
Obviously a dogpile is the only possibility for taking down the clowns. Unfortunately it seems like everyone but me has variable length NAPs with them, so I can't really say when we can actually get something together. But I think we all know it is necessary - its just a matter of coordinating.
As far as conceding, while I think its pretty open and shut that Kyan will win the game I wouldn't want to rob him and the lurkers of the opportunity to execute whatever his plan might be by inertia. I am happy to rob him of it by force, but I don't think we should give up so early.

Spam, spam, spam.
I'm going to try and get up the long-suggested RP post today. Anyone have any additional thoughts on the Brian situation?
Also - how long should we wait to get the new game post up? None of the other games looks particularly close to over at the moment.
