The main thing about Islam is we play many games with fewer than 7 players, so a seventh religion isn't very useful. But even without that, Divine Right is the only religion tech that isn't either an important prerequisite for other techs, or enables a very strong civic. It's really overpriced and and has next to no usefulness other than the religion.

reducing the cost of DR (slightly) wouldnt be a bad idea. in sp games I frequently haven't researched it even when I'm fielding modern armor and stealth bombers, heh.
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.

Sorry, but actually I think that's a prime example of a bad idea. It adds mental load to using the mod, and won't change anything. DR would still be a terrible tech.

how does it add a mental load? What does that even mean?
I don't think its really worth changing at all. it is what it is. it also makes it more likely to be out there for a civ that desperately needs a religion and wasn't able to grab an earlier one.

It's a thing that Civ IV players have to keep in mind is different in the mod than what they are used to.

Suggestion for this mod, and any mod, really: Add a button to unpause the game in the diplo screen.
I have to run.

Random completely useless flavor change: Rename environmentalism to egalitarianism. Makes more sense for a labor civic that encourages specialists.
Also, I've always found naval combat to be one of the least balanced aspects of Civ 4, are there any future plans to try to rectify this?

I just thought of this today based on circumstances in one of my games, and when I came here to suggest it I discovered you had already been talking about the tech I was thinking of: Divine Right. My thought was what if it gave a first-to bonus of a free Great Prophet? I think it's the only Great Person type that doesn't have an associated tech, but more importantly, Great Prophets seem to me to be very difficult to get if you don't tech religious techs at the start of the game (for Prophet-wonders or priests), which makes spreading a late religion unappealing since you can't get a shrine. This might kill two-to-three birds with one stone: make late religions more viable, make late shrining viable, and make Divine Right more desirable. Just a thought, I don't mean to intrude.

I think that's the wrong way to go - Divine Right is ONLY useful if you're first to it, and I'm fine with having a "dead-end" tech that doesn't amount to much if you don't want it.
