Mapmaker looking for players - Indie picks

It does happen occasionally, players that aren't in position to win may vote for their better friend of the top candidates, just to get the game over with.

Anyway, I made your forum. I'll move this thread there once all the settings are nailed down and the game gets close to starting.

To clarify, diplomatic victory setting will be on but we may not pursue a diplomatic victory?

I believe diplomatic victory must be enabled to allow the AP and UN to be built. Nothing wrong with the side benefits of the AP IMO, but did anyone have an opinion about voting yourself a UN victory? Obviously if you have enough population to do that you're probably almost at domination anyway, so that may speed the ending to a game when the conclusion is no longer in doubt. Then again it removes the possibility of a last minute win by an underdog. That said, I'm ok with leaving diplomatic victory on, allowing the AP to be built, and not building the UN if that is a better way to run the game.

It's not possible to vote yourself to a diplomatic victory. If you have enough votes to win the election without support, the option is disabled.
I have to run.

Really? I seem to remember being able to do that, was that in vanilla Civ4?

I think they changed it in some patch or expansion pack.

I believe it's a BtS change. In any case, it's not possible now smile

'aight, I've had some feedback on various things (Catwalk, Slowcheeta, Novice, Seven, you all owe luddite for a catch) and have the game up. I'm going to be sending the save off to Gaspar shortly.

Greens, I still haven't seen a turn order summary, I need to know the order for you guys before I can kick things off.

Kuro said he was 3pm-8pmPST (11:00pm-4am GMT), Catwalks PBEM 25 times say 3-10pm GMT (I can make this window), and Sian's was 3-9pm in PBEM 28.

So maybe Sian>slowcheetah>Kuro
