Nice job. Thanks for taking the time to put the details in and improving my result a bit. I'll trade the 1 extra pop I had in the capital for the earlier second city that is actually being productive (contributing a worker much sooner than mine could have done).
Our warrior finishes on T18. We may well have contact with a neighbor by then. The only thing I fear here is having our capital walked in on. It seems unlikely since it would require a declaration of war and then two turns of moving toward the city tile to find out if we have a warrior or not. I don't think most people would chance that. But I think we should probably dismiss our preconceptions about what most people will do in this game since this playing field is so completely unknown to us. For all I know these guys all go warrior first and go wandering around with it and could chance upon our empire before we're ready. I guess one way to plan for that would be for me to log in and actually try the tile count and see if I can figure it out. That's easier done with units that have already moved, of course, so that I don't send units the wrong direction while mousing around.
I will NOT be looking for continent shape with GO TO, though, as that's rather cheaty. But I think if we can suss out whether we're likely to be 10 tiles or 20 tiles or whatever away from our neighbors we can figure out what kind of scouting route is appropriate. Speaking of that, I guess there isn't a ton of value in scouting further into that jungle for now. Do you want to play risky and try for circumnaviagation or explore the local neighborhood? My dinosaur brain says to circle around and find our neighbors until we have defense in place, but winning circumnavigation is always such a huge benefit that it seems a shame to not even try. I guess depending on your thoughts on that, next turn we either go:
local and move NW, SW
or
global and move NE and try to get out of the jungle, but keep moving away from the capital. This map is not a toroid, so we only need longitudinal circumnav to win the race. Of course we'll probably be eaten by a bear long before we make it out, but there have been some recent heroic scouting deeds reported around RB, it isn't impossible for the starting scout to win the race before dying.
Anyway, I look forward to us a having large pile of rocks and us reaping its many benefits, which include some of the things listed in a recent Possum Kingdom press release:
