[SPOILERS] Rusten and Hitru laugh off any and all mistakes as bad RNG

You are talking about Nauf dont you? Ha  ha ...In the other pitboss i made him a clear offer letting him to take 4-5 cities from you even  he setled very cose to my capitol but him no no must atack mack.I didnt read his reasoning for what he is doing but i bet is this , you are too advanced neeed to be taken down.

But he is not taking us down, he can't even advance towards us without astro. smile

In an absolute worst case for us (Nauf somehow captures both our cities nearest to him and someone else attacks us so that we rather give him peace than split our forces) we would still lose only 2 minor cities and would come back later to burn his coast. That just can't be worth it to him.

My best guess is that he did not anticipate this fast astro from us and then took our peace offer as an insult instead of a warning, as it was meant to be taken. We would have accepted some reasonable counter and moved on to raid BGN or Comm coast. Now we will see what happens, we probably give him another (more reasonable) offer and see what he does.

Yeah the "offer" was just signalling that we're in charge here and we know it, even if he was the one to DoW. The most agonizing thing about all this is that BGN's Moai city is guarded by only 2 warriors and we had a galleon prepared for it, but now we need to send it south instead. Major bonerkill. BGN and Commodore should send naufragar a thank you card after this game.

You know there's no danger when you're whipping infrastructure in a besieged city....

Jujyfruits will likely fall to the sword next turn, but needless to say there's no way he's holding on to an island city like that. If he has the gall to think that he can take this city and then offer peace back he is sorely mistaken.

If these cities are so minor why did you settle them?

Because every city is worth settling at some point? I don't understand the question.

We settled these after turn 100, the silver city was settled turn 124. Naufragar has had PLENTY of time to claim them if he was so inclined. If he's making a point of them belonging to him then that's complete rubbish.

Seems naufragar burned Jujyfruits. Going to have to put him in the role-playing pile of players after this game, I don't understand his actions from the standpoint of trying to win the game. I didn't think these players existed on RB -- it was one of my pet peeves in CFC pitbosses.

We've been trading since the start of the game and we gave him a favourable OB deal, but somehow he still considers us such an enemy that he's willing to lose all his seafood.

So naufragar razed Jujyfruits and then offered a blank peace treaty. What planet is he currently living on? lol

If he wanted good will from us he'd retreat from the city instead of burning it to the ground. I know that we sound arrogant, but we are in our rights to right now. If he had attacked us earlier it would be different, but being astronomy up on someone is absolutely game-breaking and Krill has surely had many sleepless nights trying to think of a way to balance it. Naufragar should admit his mistake/disadvantage and pay the gold.

Until he does we will blockade cities, pillage seafood and (fork) threaten cities.

Still only 2 warriors....

Plan: Raid naufragar's coast and take peace when it suits us (or for a reasonable sum of money). Force him to whip a bunch of outdated units to slow down his teching/economy -- raze city when/if possible. Try to use the conflict to our advantage and appear weak/preoccupied to other rivals. Attack BGN when he least expects it.

Maybe a bit harsh on my part, I don't want to create any bad blood. I'll blame my words on the heat of the moment. I can't understand his moves personally, but maybe his thread will explain later. He's shown before that he takes the pitboss games seriously, and he reports almost every turn. Maybe it's just a lapse in judgement, because IMO it's a huge mistake from him to not sue for peace the moment he sees the galleon. He should realize then that he will not come out of this the victor, even if he had ended up being able to capture RedDot.

FWIW the 2nd peace offer was a mere 350g. That's only ~3 turns of gold accumulation. But he declined and razed our city instead.

Well there is a concept here at RB never gave the blood money becasue you just help the agressor and encourage that in future games.Perhaps Nauf consider he is your designed victim and he mentaly is prepared to fight to the end.
