We also treat you as a friend, but right now we also have to face the realization that our open borders with you are not economically advantageous to us. In addition, you are currently in the runaway leader position and we know that you want to avoid dogpiles. If open borders is to be maintained, we kindly ask that we negotiate a spices-silk deal between us that also involves a small gold per turn compensation. We were thinking of along the lines of 10 gold per turn. This hypothetical trade would be in effect for the duration of our NAP, so up to but not including turn 150. And this extra gold would give us some badly needed economic benefit that we could use to tech to Guilds to take over nearby land (e.g., India). Our desire to get Guilds early should be no secret, but don't forget that while we do have a benefit there (as you correctly state) you also have the more important benefit of having substantially weak neighbors or neighbors that are more concerned about others (e.g., Asterix being more worried about India, as he apparently has signed a NAP with you). As for the question of what you should do with Asterix, I think that's really up to you guys.

I really hope Oxy isn't directing his anger at me, but that's the vibe I'm getting from the tech thread. Also, despite my schedule, I'm getting a little 'obsessed' over this game so I'll try and cut down on the number of visits to this site. Really hope the game can get moving soon.

Msg is ok. I think they'll never accept 10gpt, but we could start from something.
If they offer 5gpt it would be huge for us.
What we got from Sut TR didnt matter. Civ calculated our Imp/Exp on -90, worst by long shot. We has enough trade partners for now, even if Asterix follow Sut and decide to close borders with us.

I just traded maps with Arki. He also got map from Yos before. It was a good deal for us, I didn't ask you.
Look in game to know Arki's, Yos's and some more land.

I also moved chariot as you wanted to. Dont think we could find any barbs to 10xp it, but we could try.
It could help Yos's forces to attack Rome from the south if it suited.

I will send SutOxy the message above, with some minor revisions (e.g., saying 5 to 10 gold per turn instead of around 10 gpt, for instance). Interesting stuff about imports/exports, I'm just reading about that stuff now to refresh my memory.

I'll check the game later tonight (hopefully turn rolls then but whatever). Don't worry about not asking me for map trades, as you said I'm pretty sure it's a good deal. Did you talk with Arki about keeping maps private, or is that too long of a shot to consider? I'd be especially interested in India's land, for instance. And yes, I'm doubtful we can get to 10xp but remember, team ponies and aivoturoso are so slow in expansion that maybe there's tons of fog left.

Well, it's January 11. No sign of Asterix, so the game is still at a standstill. His last visit was on January 9 and he didn't say anything. I've been super busy for most of the game but even I can find the 5 minutes necessary to at least go online and post. To be honest, I wouldn't mind if he was replaced with another player. Or should I say "she"? Caledorn refers to Asterix as Maga_R, yet another team that's making me confused about him/her.

And honesty, why is Team Dinosaurs waiting for Asterix when they should be worried about Rome?

Okay, I looked at the map, and I think Arki really needs to fill in the gaps between his cities. Some of them are spread quite far away. I'm more impressed with Blame Caledorn, but while he has 1 more city, they are generally smaller. We have a size 10 capital (compared to 8 for his) and we have three size 8 cities and four size 7 cities, while Blame Caledorn's second most populated city is of size 6. I'll post a more detailed report soon, but I think we're in really good shape as far as pure population goes, aside from the fact that SutOxy probably have more citizens.

Should we send a reply or just wait for him? I'm curious about what he meant by "if we go further." It's pretty much a given that the game will eventually continue ... the question is if any of our deals with India will continue.

Teddy, I think we should both avoid posting in the tech thread, since plako already made it clear that we will be searching for a replacement if Asterix doesn't show up soon. I think if we keep posting other teams will get annoyed at us, if they haven't done so already (and Asterix will continue to hate you).

Also, interesting news with Yuufo. Feel free to talk if you want but try to hide the fact that his civilization is a *possible* target for cataphracts.

It was just poor trolling Asterix. im sure he/she aware of whats going on, maybe some invisible users logged on this forum...

On the other hand, maybe Asterix just died in the car crush 2 days ago. I might feel terrible if he/she does.
