If they're changing sizes, like as not it'll switch again soon. But I'll remove the tags soon if it doesn't.

But I do agree it's a waste of time to try to balance a set of rules that includes tech trading for strong play. In general, people who understand the game well enough to benefit from a balance mod will also understand that tech trading is awful.

So is NTT though, considering the amount of times players have had zero control over catching a run away. In fact, the reason paper and other techs have had additional effects bestowed upon them is because of the issues with NTT rather than with TT. PB8 turned into an unwitting experiment on what would happen if tech costs were increased and no other changes, and whilst I do not wish to draw detailed conclusions in public whilst the game is ongoing, it does seem to have a lot in common with NTT PB games.

That's cool. I'm a little behind on my lurking, but I hope it works out

My statement was based upon the people playing PB9 saying that they wouldn't play with tech trading again. So yeah.

IIRC Commodore said that he didn't want to play with NTB, not with tech trading as a whole, and NTB has it's own set of problems unique to itself. I don't know of any other statements.

One conclusion: Small economies with ridiculously high costs get curb stomped by higher tech costs in the Renaissance period. More news at eleven!

But my inevitable victory will be all the more impressive for it! lol

Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon

Yeah, higher tech costs are balanced for much higher know tech boosts.

The Hunting-AH change...ehhhh, if Horses are still revealed at AH that's a nerf to Chariots for quite a few civs.
