So Darrell landed his troops W of Pasargadae (I'm getting better at spelling it now from memory). In total 2xAxe 3xChariot 1xSpear. They can cause me some problems for sure. Might even be my downfall. Ruff has his two galleys moving back this way I think too, spotted em on north coast with unit on way back.
So I move my immortal from forest defence into pasar, pasar finished a spear at end of last turn and I move another spear I'd moved up from Persepolis last turn into the city. The city uses roll over from whip of mostly complete spear to build walls. So I haven't simmed any of this but I think with that unit composition he'd have a tough time taking the city on his turn. He'd need to take out both spears for his chariots to be of use but at least the first axe should lose to my immortal thanks to it getting defensive bonuses and thus having odds against it. Meaning I should have a spear left and probably full health (depending on if he throws in his spear too) to fend off his chariots.
More likely what I see him doing is retreating to the now vacant forest tile (my other spear that was there moved SE onto road), loading back up in his galleys, or perhaps sacrificing his troops to cut my strat resources. Wish I'd been more proactive about chopping those forests earlier.
So finalized deal for math. Monarch + 17g = Math + Poly . Works out nicely since I'll have 20g leftover from pillaging ruff's improvements next turn :D

Chat with America Wrote:Yaz: liking the looks of my defences?
Darrell: It was a pleasant surprise I guess
Darrell: everytime I make a move you foozle me though, so I didn't get that excited
Darrell: probably have units in the fog or something
Darrell: something mean for sure
Yaz: no units in fog
Darrell: slaved unit then
Darrell: something...always something
Darrell: <paranoid jack nicholson eyes from teh shinging>
Yaz: hey now, paranoia is the trademark of Paranoid Persia. You can't use that.
Darrell: heh-heh...touche
Yaz: I did give you one 'surprise' but yeah my pants were down as everything was being ferried over to ruff
Yaz: long ways back
Darrell: yeah, I know
Darrell: that moral GG has to be back by now though
Yaz: guess it would depend whether he was near a road or not
Yaz: I suppose you'll find out when the turn rolls though hehe
Darrell: grumble
Yaz: Who knows, maybe you don't have a stack any more :-o
Darrell: always a surpise
Darrell: now *that* would be a neat trick...but I wouldnt put it past you
Yaz: Well you see you just open the save file in notepad and.... :P
Darrell: Is it really just a text file?
Darrell: that's hilarious
Yaz: I have no idea, never bothered to look
Yaz: Anyways monarchy + math
Yaz: what to do?
Darrell: I'm willing to do math+mono for monarchy+cash
Yaz: How much cash?
Yaz: and switch that to poly not mono
Darrell: that I havent figured out yet
Darrell: math+poly+mono for monarchy+meditation+cash?
Darrell: thats less cash since poly costs more
Yaz: no you can drop mono
Yaz: poly is less than mono
Yaz: oh you need mediation?
Yaz: you have priesthood though right?
Darrell: lets see math is 250 and poly is 100, while monarhy is 300
Darrell: all times 0.67 I think
Darrell: so that puts you at 50*0.67 = 34 gold
Yaz: Do you need priest hood?
Darrell: no, I don't
Yaz: k how about monarchy + meditation for for math + poly
Yaz: I'll forgive the beaker dif
Darrell: not really *that* intrested in meditation,
Yaz: and you're just saying that because you're trying to delayme getting math :P
Yaz: fact is you're getting a deal there beakers wise
Darrell: well...there are other considerations at play
Darrell: I'd be willing to give you a 50% dicsount ont he cash owed I guess
Darrell: so 17 gold
Yaz: math + poly for monarchy + 17 g?
Darrell: yeah
Darrell: traded via dreylin I guess
Yaz: how about via krill?
Darrell: that is also fine
Yaz: I actually haven't met dreylin yet.
Darrell: oh, didn't know that
Darrell: krill is fine with me
Yaz: ok deal
Yaz: I'll get in touch with Krill about it.
Darrell: okay
Yaz: having an army over seas is expensive eh?
Darrell: yeah
Darrell: 17g pays for about 2 turns
Yaz: A little awkward paying for my destruction
Darrell: heh-heh...that's pretty funny
