I'll research Mysticism anyway, with minimum overflow, and then save gold for a turn, maybe two. Then I can pick a tech to research at max sci. Our second city can get a monument, Stonehenge, the Oracle or a religion for culture, depending on circumstances.
I have to run.

Settling party is on its way:
I've now also defogged the entire area around the copper. Unfortunately, my scout ran into a hostile AI doing so. I really hope Seven decides to be friendly and lets my scout live, since I'd like to defog those last few tiles to find out where the hell the horses are. I'm kind of hoping they're in one of those two fogged tiles to my northeast that will be revealed in four turns when my borders expand.

Yeah, so looks like I was wrong. Pride goes before a fall
Serdoa got 20 points for land (his 2nd ring borders), and a tech with no soldier points. Whilst this could be Fishing, I'm putting it down as Mysticism as being more likely. And noting that I aren't as good at figuring stuff out as I'd hoped
Seven grew his cap to size 5, finished Bronze Working and built a Warrior.
Mackoti grew to size 5 and built a Quechua.
Nicolae finished Bronze Working.

I wish I knew what Serdoa was thinking. Mediation or Polytheism, that is the question.

If you were in his shoes, which one would you go for?
Seven = hostile AI? nice
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.

Seven has actually named his civilization the AI.
I simmed Serdoa's start in my sandbox, and he'll get Meditation eot25 or Polytheism eot26.
Seven just finished Bronze Working and started with Mysticism, so I bet he's going for a religion too. And he killed Sleepy, so I won't get to rename him to Happy.
Seven's warrior versus my scout on flatland should be exactly a 2:1 strength ratio - does that mean he got 2XP from the fight?

Ok, I simmed Seven's start as well. He can also get Meditation eot25 or Polytheism eot26 (and he's before Serdoa in turn order). He'll have to found it in his capital though, since he can't get the settler out fast enough without revolting to slavery, which will delay the religion.

So this is the plan:
Save a bit of gold while almost finishing Mysticism. On my t25, finish it at max science with a lot of overflow. When I get the t26 save, I'll expect to see one of four things:
1. (Hopefully): Buddhism has not been founded, and I should be able to safely grab Meditation as a 3-turn project.
2. Serdoa has founded Buddhism. That also means Seven is researching Polytheism. I bite the bullet, tech pottery and build a monument in my second city.
3. Seven has founded Buddhism, and Serdoa got a tech. Well great, Serdoa got beaten to Meditation but still finished the tech. I grab Polytheism as a 4-turn project.
4. Seven has founded Buddhism, and Serdoa did not get a tech. If Serdoa was pursuing Meditation and switched to Polytheism, it should be a 5-turn tech for him and I can beat him to Polytheism on turn order. If Serdoa has been teching Polytheism all along, I'll find out next turn and I'll have wasted some beakers into Polytheism. But I'll have the option at least of going for Monotheism. I'll have to build a monument in this case too though.
Lurker comments?

I had been going to ask if there was a possibility of doing something like that.
And I think if mackoti is doing polytheism then he'd get it before T25 anyway (tho more likely he's researching pottery given it's following the wheel).

Especially since he's playing the Incas. Pottery will solve his cultural issues. Creative would have been good on this map, resources are so spread out.
