Started things off.
Here's our dominion
short term goals for this turnset
-finish monarchy for HR happiness
-get units in appropriate cities - 3 units per city except Korhal which gets 2
-start the process of fixing our economy post-war
-finish infrastructure and get our civilization ready to expand under the next player
Let's get going!
First things first
-the axeman on his way to war has no war to go to
let's turn him around and send him back to Shakuras for happiness duty later on
-a sign told me to make a cottage, so i did
-check the military adviser for troop movement ideas - we have 13 troops in total, with two more axemen under construction.
one warrior is off scouting, so that gives us 14 units to spread between 5 cities for happiness. all cities get 3 each except Korhal, our newest acquisition, which gets 2.
It can whip more later if needed.
-axeman near Korhal cleans up a barbarian for some free experience before heading back into the city
-tarsonis expands borders on t126
-Shakuras' pair of forest chops overflow from an axe into a granary, completing it 2/3rds.
I start the workers nearby on more forest chops and mines. That's the aim here.
-I swap Aiur to the two scientists
forgot to get a screenshot of this, but it bumped Monarchy down by a couple turns, which was nice.
-I use my newfound worker turn micro skills to get a worker from the forested sugar tile to the pasture
note the cottage sign. I begin the cow pasture for later.
-a random shot of Tarsonis. I swapped it from the farm to the lake tile.
We don't want Tarsonis to grow before the whip anger has worn off, and the bonus commerce will be nice.
I'm quite proud of this micro move.
-Korhal comes out of resistance this turn, adding 8 beakers to our research but also taking nearly that much commerce away in maintenance costs.
We need a courthouse here YESTERDAY. This city is only barely paying for itself. I start a library asap, I will whip it when I can.
-Hiigara finishes the axeman it was working on
I swap it to a library and move a citizen from the mine to the wheat, to grow it quicker and get it ready for a whip when the whip anger wears off in 5 turns
-choppin' mo' forests, buildin' mo' mines
-I whip the library with 1pop to let it overflow into a granary.
Does the free Creative trait give us more hammers for this whip for the granary?
Not really sure if this was a good move, but the whip anger was up this turn so I whipped
-The scouting warrior in arab land has been scouting more -
I find a barbarian city but unfortunately finish my turn right next to it because I didn't notice the border in the jungle. The warrior dies next turn![frown frown](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
-granary overflow ends up getting it halfway done.
-Korhal grows to size 3 - I put the third citizen on the ocean tile because it gives a nice chunk of commerce to speed up
Monarchy by a turn (we're cycling between 10 and 20% science at this point), and we don't really need to grow Korhal anytime soon without more happy
-Hiigara's whip anger wears off and I whip the library and overflow into an axe,
since I couldn't think of anything else to build and with monarchy right around the corner it will be nice for hereditary rule
-Monarchy comes in! I revolt immediately to hereditary rule and
continue to build more mines and cottages with the workers
-Now that we have Monarchy done, I swap the scientists back into Aiur as
citizens and set them to work on two cottages so we can start maturing them.
-We finish our turn of Anarchy and I start us on Code of Laws.
Cutting maintenance costs will do a lot more than adding commerce will.
A barbarian shows up near Korhal - I was planning to leave him, but there is a road on the hill there (Did I make that road or did the AI? I forget.)
I can hit the barbarian with an axe out of the city in one turn, so I pick an axe and send him out.
Some final shots of our cities post-Hereditary Rule
Shakuras
Aiur
Hiigara
Tarsonis
Korhal
and a final overview of our empire
Goals achieved this turn
-All three of our initial cities have a granary and a library, and Shakuras is a turn away from a barracks.
-Both our invaded cities (Tarsonis and Korhal) have a library, Tarsonis is nearly done with a granary and Korhal will be ready to whip one soon
-Added three cottages, two to Aiur and one to Tarsonis. Shakuras has a cottage due to finish next turn with three workers building it, and Aiur has a third cottage being built.
-Finished five mines at Shakuras and chopped most of the forests there, though there are a few left if you want to chop out something here.
-pastured the cow at Tarsonis, and began farming the wheat at Korhal
-Finished Monarchy for Hereditary Rule - All of our cities have at least three bonus happiness from military units except Korhal, which has only one axeman in the city and another one in the forests outside the city. However korhal still has two spare happyfaces before it will need that axe back in the city, so we might want to send that axe off to scout.
-Started Code of Laws, it is due in a frightening 37 turns at a deficit-30% science rate. Once our cities start growing now that they have some military units, we should see a big big jump in this soon.
Something I failed to do
-Scout! I didn't scout at all out to the east. I didn't realise how excessive 3 units per city would be - I could have sent off one of our war axes to go scout out the east. Completely forgot we wanted to do this. We know enough about our land to plan our next few cities at least.
Demographics for the final turn. We are number five in production and number three in GNP, but we are TOP in food which is the most important - and with our new source of happiness with military units, in 10-15 turns we should be top in GNP and production due to our riverside cottages and our production city at Shakuras.
