OMG a turn, the first in 5 days.

Don't really remember what I was supposed to be doing. This got to be the most unsatisfying golden age ever due to all the pauses.

Might as well post the demos:

2 turns left on my golden age, swap back into slavery next turn.

The empire, forgot how many cities I have but it's 20 something.

Also, Seven takes Stonehenge from HAK aka his capital.

Gavagai dead in 20 turns I think.

I was close, Gavagai died on turn 130.

Now it's turn 131, what's going on?

Nothing.

Turn 133

Here are some events. Haram declared war on Joey. Joey is apparently getting wrecked.

Joey would name his GG Biggus Dickus. Why am I not surprised. [Image: chansub-global-emoticon-c8a77ec0c49976d3-22x30.png]

I'm building Forges in most of my cities:

Haven't updated in a while so I will give you all a brief picture of what's going on. No screenshots this time around.

I have Engineering and Guilds and I will attack Donovan next turn.

Wetbandit have Alphabet and he's more advanced than me: he has basically everything I have and he's up Compass, Alpha, Banking and Theology on me.

Got research visibility on Seven, he's going for Nationalism. He just started another MoM fuelled golden age.

Got research visibility on Mackoti, he's going for Nationalism. He recently birthed a Great Engineer and will almost certainly rush the Taj Mahal.

About my own game:

I thought I got myself into a great position 50 turns ago with the most cities and the Mids/TGLH by using both of my strong early game traits. However I currently found myself struggling to keep up with some of my rivals. I'm not really sure what I did wrong. I could come up with a few plausible explanations:

Overexpansion?
Over building courthouses?
Over whipping/undergrowth?
Under valuing the Wharf in this mod?
Not aggressive enough?

Maybe someone can point out my mistakes after the game. If I weren't playing in so many games already I would've considered joining the greens game with mentors.

Turn 147

Well I said I was going to attack didn't I?

Going to throw in the siege and attack the city next turn.

Top cities and wonders:

Coming tied 2nd to mackoti is hardly a bad position so it's hard to say if you've made any errors, especially without logging in.

The only thing that comes to mind; I didn't realise you had the Mids from your reports. Have you been (ab)using that at all?

Well I'm just observing the fact that more experienced players like Seven and Wetbandit both played the mid game a lot better than I did, so I'm just looking for room for improvement.

I've been using the mids a fair bit I think. Currently, I do around 70 beakers on rep specialist alone (most scientists, a few engineers). This is during a middle of a war where I've been whipping a fair bit of units instead of working a lot of specialists.

Also, Grimace declared war on Haram.

I got the city:

It was a walled city on a hill, so my units had terrible odds but I feel that I had to attack anyways. Since Donovan is almost at Engineering. I got a Great General that I will use as a super medic but I also fed enough exp for Donovan to get a GG as well. I feel I had to rush thing a little too much therefore the preparation for the war was really sloppy: I'm in the wrong civics and didn't bring enough siege. But I think I need to take as many cities as possible before he gets to Engineering.
