All right, reporting, back at it, yay
The net of it is things went well. AT took the fight, hit with his catapults and then hitters. it went poorly for him. I didn't sim it, just intuit out kinda how it should go based on the units, but I think he got something like a 20th percentile result (where about a 65th or so percentile result would be a net gain for him).
So counterattacked, cats first. Actually had great luck on the cats themselves, getting retreats out of 3-4 low odds (~20%) fights. And then had nothing worse than a 80% fight, and almost entirely 95%+ fights, going forward. Lost none, which wasn't insanely lucky but certainly like a 70th percentile result or something (being very loose with numbers here).
So based on that good fortune, the subsequent conquering is going to go much faster. Knights are now at the front, I'll heal up for a turn then run through the meagre remaining resistance. Might even blitz with HAs / knights next turn depending on how AT arranges units.
Also, commodore, you wanted G2s? Why only 2?

AT consolidated towards his capital, so I did this:

Either next turn or the following everyone else will begin marching on the capital, which AT is reinforcing from the south as well
Easy city or two there for barteq if he's ready
I anticipate this war being over within 10 turns. You'll note I'm teching towards Astro, this + some islands should get my city count up to at least not-terminally-behind level, don't think it'll make me anywhere close to a favorite.
So help me god GJ if you put a bunch of random peaks out there...

Damnit culture bug
Doesn't really matter, just amusing. And if this war were still up in the air that could've been super important. Have we ever figured out what causes the culture bug exactly? (where I'm defining the culture bug here as cultural borders not disappearing properly upon city captures sometimes)

I'm about to vulture 1-2 cities out of molach, both are ones Ichabod is lightly threatening, but I don't think he can take next turn.
Not very attached to unboiled egg, substantially want No Scouting. I might even declare on Ichabod for it if he left it ill-defended, owning it would just make my borders substantially easier to defend. Might raze resettle on a hill though. tbd. On the other hand unboiled egg, as i said, is w/e. I would like it but no biggie if I don't get it.

heh, for a second there I thought we missed a spot where it might have been possible to build a culture-bridge across the ocean, but doesn't look like it, whew. that drove us crazy in the map-checking phase! 
nice job on the double bulb! any boats/settlers/whatever ready to go exploring?

Yeah, two galleys will autocomplete to galleons next turn, be loaded up with <mil unit> + worker + settler (same turn for one, 1t delay for another), and sent off to colonize.
There are a few other galleys that will roll over hammers to galleons as well, with optics I can see at least 2 other astro-island coasts to my west, need to go check those out too.

Man I want the turn roll to happen, shit that happens next turn:
1) Probably take AT's capital
2) Probably declare war on Molach
3) get my first real view of the astro island
4) possibly, though probably not, declare war on Ichabod*

*would really rather we not go to war given if it expands beyond a small border dispute it'll drag us both down, but I think PB18 increased the value I place on a non-awful border... so we shall see
