I'm getting an error message each time I load the save. I think the error message that flashes up for roughly half a second is saying that the save file is protected? Could this be an admin password issue?

No I believe this is a version of civ issue since the steam faff... Can't remember for the life of me how to get around it as it was a year or 2 ago. Maybe if commodore generates the game perhaps?

This fixed it. My last PBEM worked so not sure what was happening there, but it matters not. Onwards.
