Gotta say, it feels like a lifetime since i last played a turn in pb39.. lol. Messed around with some settings in-game and trying to see how quickly i can get to at least guilds, and its looking iffy which sucks. My standing in this game is becoming less awesome by the minute.. Other civs are able to have decent tech rates + 3x my army size or better and most dont have courthouses!! ( according to espionage graph ) I mean, Wtf? Why. Someone explain. Is it because my cities are specialized like crap? Not enough improved tiles? Worse land? Bad traits? Not enough cities? What is it that is keeping me from being in the real top 3? All these questions i hope to have answered before the next player bites the dust. ( hope its Yuri )

I feel for you Charriu. i really do. Just fight like hell so they dont get EZ cities please. .. PLEASE WHIP MORE. Be prickly!

JR4 vs Charriu- JR4 is simply using china's UU to gain more land, its frankly, op with collateral damage.. should just be a beefier crossbow, or maybe available sooner instead? Charriu is also at war with...... Dark Savant. Judging from power, and Charriu's almost Gandhi level of non-whipping????? he is down another city and i wouldnt be suprised if WLP joins in to snipe another one. Charriu if you read this after your game is over, This is what you need to know for future games. Whip. Become prickly. settling cities imo, is fine if you can defend them. ( dont look at my cities defended by warriors ..... ) Although China's UU is hard to handle, heavy whipping especially when someone, ( ipecac ) is gifting you a bunch of happiness? WHIP MAH BOI WHIP!! JR4 doesnt need anymore god damn land. Dark Savant and WLP better keep some of his forces tied up there, id rather not deal with his UU till knights.
It wasn't that bad. And yeah that's one of my big learnings in this game. WHIP

Why aren't you ganking Charriu's settler? The free worker too much personal benefit?
Honestly, because he still has/had a galley near my fish nets and that would be a pita to have to whip a boat to kill his galley when he is gonna be killed id figure soon. plus he ignored like the 1 spot for MILES that has no culture in it, and he could settle on.. ALSO ALSO, if his axe ends up in a weird spot he could actually threaten a city as i have alot of warriors.. ALSO ALSO ALSO.... he is playing in the same new game as me in pb40 and i dont want the bad relations there.
if he goes somewhere EZ i might gank it for a worker, cuz i DO need more workers..
Oh my, yeah the axe and settler. I think I don't spoil anything for you, but it was not safe to settle in my homeland and so I was looking for a lonely island, where I could start anew with a somewhat One City Challenge.
I also named them appropiately, if you hadn't noticed:
Settler = "Looking for a nice place to settle"
Axeman = "I will conquer the world"
Oh and don't be afraid. You taking this settler, at this point in the game, would not have spoiled relations in any future game. I would certainly be a prick, if I hold this against you.

I complete my last turn of golden age with guilds/banking done. and Calendar being researched EOT. I have 1 crossbow and a knight completing as well, and plan on having a... 20+ size force of knights in the following 10 turns or so. They will be heading for Yuri lands ( ill whip them out sooner if Ipecac or Wetbandit ever move their ass ) I will be putting another lbow/crossbow pair in each border/island city and currently have plans for a decent forbidden palace city. I have fallen a bit behind in Crop yield... but i should be competitive in production and gnp going forward.
Any questions? Good, because i have no answers

I also have planned out that i can have city vision on anyone within 10-15 turns from now. I have tech vision on everyone but Yuri, and Dark savant. Cursed need for courthouses..

I should really start reading my texts before posting them and not after.

Quick update- Been whipping knights/other infrastructure as needed to prep for taking a couple cities off of Yuri. i am however making sure my WLP and JR4 border is secure. sent WLP a fish - fish style deal, if he doesnt accept ill likely be forced to hit him after hitting Yuri ( and pump more defenders into the south ) im going to fish/fish JR4 again next turn to make sure that border is "somewhat" secure.. we both have scouts keeping track of armies anyway.

I continue to prep for a war that i should have entered by now.. Barracks/stables/coll all going up in any city that can 3 turn or less a knight. Also because my late game is absolute garbage.. ive preset my tech path for the good ol' cav "rush" I figure ill mass whip/ect at that point to either end the game in my favor, or lose it by that time. Im keeping up in production vs the golden age people, and im very likely going to get plenty of Yuri land.. so long as he doesnt just instantly fall.. I have tech vis on most of the competition although Wetbandit is pouring points into me to prevent me from keeping it on him. I plan on overbuilding knights to keep JR4 from bumrushing into my land ( which if he did right now with his power... wouldnt end well ) and to keep Wetbandit from just running into me after.. Slight worry about WLP jumping in from the south so gotta keep a watch on that..

Turn 149- Huge report. Image's should be spoilered to show appropriate players.
Because i know everyone else will be doing a huge turn 150 report.. im going to be the oddball and do one This turn :D
Currently whipping/building knights and some last minute infrastructure before i grab a couple cities off of Yuri. I only really plan on getting the 2 border ones, but if i can get another safe one, i wont say no.. it looks like we will have a 3 way border between Us, Wetbandit, and Ipecac. Perfect. Should mean that if one of them attacks, the other likely will take a bite out of them.
Current Plan:
Take Yuri's border cities, ramp up units/defense in islands/JR4's border as he is teching Compass, which likely means going for sea dominance. Once i believe i can hold my cities, i take my superior city count/production/something and slam it into WLP. If i can take a good chunk of his land... i might have a chance at winning. Otherwise, the plan is to not die. Since i have a whole bunch of cities... This shouldnt be a problem unless people want to spend 6months trying to take 3 cities

My civ-
[img][/img] [img][/img] [img][/img]
I have some room for a couple fillers, but nothing that is priority... i think.
JR4-
[img][/img] [img][/img] [img][/img] [img][/img]
Next up, we have our runnerup/winner of pb39 ( if im being honest ) I currently have 90EP/turn and have city vision on him and WLP. Ive decided to burn EP into Ipecac to keep watch on his cities next, then im going to go for Wetbandit, as he is the next highest EP spender, and likely trying to stop me from having tech vision on him..
WLP-
[img][/img] [img][/img]
He has a boatload of cats. a small stack of axes by our border, and is sandwiched between me, JR4, and Ipecac.. Not the best spot to be in, i feel like he should have been able to take his early game + religion + stonehenge into a closer to JR4 superiority.. But to his credit, he did take over this civ after Ghostpants never returned from wherever he went.
Wetbandit-
[img][/img] [img][/img]
Before grabbing the pyramids, he was basically the "i am boudicca, do you really want to fight me? " and then he got pyramids and abused them pretty hard, to rocket into a hell of a tech advantage, which he has used to likely be first to knights, and is proceeding to eat Yuri.. Luckily Dark Savant got the Statue of Zues, and i dont think this game will see Pentagon era before someone is called the winner.
Ipecac-
[img][/img] [img][/img] [img][/img]
From reading past pitbosses and seeing peoples reactions to him, i pegged him as alot more... warlike, kind of like an OT4E. He is keeping a BOATLOAD of units of JR4's pinned down in a border city, and ate a good chunk of Yuri already... Hope he and Wetbandit can bash heads.
Yuri-
[img][/img] [img][/img]
Dont know what to say... Killed my scout when i tried to get him back, i could have razed his border city, but im doubtful that that was the right move. Seeing that he was the only other person to be as low as i am/was on the power ranking, i would have liked to have attacked earlier, much earlier.. Could have taken a good chunk of him with some concentrated whipping/chopping of War Chariots, but... i wanted to be somewhat peaceful this time around... Then he killed my scout. The war coming soon, will be to avenge the scout!!
Dark Savant-
[img][/img] [img][/img] [img][/img]
The true wildcard of this game i think. Whereas i will 90% lose, Dark Savant is a major decider.. I dont know if he has enough land/production/research ect to manage a win at this point, but whomever he ends up attacking ( if he does ) will not win the game. He borders Ipecac, Wetbandit and now JR4 where Charriu's head used to be
Closing thoughts-
I would rank myself next lowest compared to Yuri. With it looking like JR4- Ipecac/wetbandit- Dark Savant/WLP- Me- Yuri. Some things i would have done differently in this game, Attacked Yuri. Gone for a better wonder.. Likely would have settled slightly better spots then i ended up with.
Any questions?

Continuing to pump EP into those that i dont have city vision on yet.. JR4 is bumrushing to astro , and currently has massive garrison in Ex-Charriu lands, and near the Ipecac border. Im worried about galleon attacks on my coastal cities, so im prepping for a pike+ longbow in each. Im a little bit nervous about Ipecac/Wetbandit's armies continuing into my territory.. so i might just end up razing those two border cities.. he's collapsing faster than i figured. Or i just wasnt out of the "farmers" gambit quite yet.. All those infrastructure builds and not more than 4 barracks/stables between 16+ cities catches up pretty fast.
So because its late, i took of pic of everyones armies that i can currently see, in comparison to mine, in no real order-
