Not a thing I can do here even with the gold I've been getting, basically all I can do is keep hitting enter until I get rolled off the mainland and can go AI or the game is conceded to somebody.

Going by the Zulan tracker he double turned to invade me, but it makes absolutely no difference whether he did or not here. All I can do is evacuate to my capital, fortify it with everything I have, and wait for the cannons to blow it out at this point. Leaving the minutemen on flat ground with that many cuirassiers and cannons would be suicide; they still can't win against that many cannons but they'll hold out better with the extra hill, culture defense, and fortify bonus I can build up in my capital. I have been completely outplayed and don't mind admitting it.

Well, I did the best I could, but I'll no longer be making any meaningful contribution to the outcome of this game. I did manage to tank pretty much all of Raskol's cannons and his trebuchets with CG3/Guerrilla 2 minutemen and took a chunk out of his cuirassiers, but there was just too much siege for me to tank and I didn't have enough units left over to attack out and revenge kill anything. I did attack out with all my remaining catapults (18 of them) and even got a withdrawal from one of them, so Raskol's stack is badly damaged and won't be good for much for a few turns after this, even if he brings up a Medic 3 unit. I know superdeath has cavalry available but I don't know how much, if he wants to win then now is the time to unleash a big stack of cavalry and cannons.

Attacking early with your AGG/CHA America pick vs Raskol who was busy with religion/stonehenge ect i think would have made you the primer threat throughout the game instead of myself. Were you worried that Gavagai would stab you?
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. [Image: noidea.gif] In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

That, and I felt like I couldn't get far enough ahead of Raskol on tech/military to win with the culture defense + general defender's advantages until it was too late for me to really do anything about it.

having triple promo's should have been enough to at least dent him so that Cairo might be inclined to hit him as well before tech trading really ramped up. IMO, as soon as he put stonehenge in that city i would have beelined ironworking and had some nasty swords coming for him.
