GG to both of you and of course everybody else especially Piccadilly, who was so close to winning.

Congratulations! The commitment of the final players is both admirable and horrifying at the same time, but it was certainty exciting to watch!

But Superdeath's my religion is the most popular one!!
I was also quite critical of the map, Miguelito, and I'm not sure that I warmed to it later the way that you seemed to. I think it overwhelmingly favoured the leaders with slow traits, because the areas for each player were so clearly defined - I think people like Naufragar and Superdeath were playing from behind from the start (and it's no coincidence that I had slow traits, I suspect). But I agree that there evidently was a lot of thought put into it, and I really appreciate that. There were a lot of interesting choices, especially with settling spots early on. Thanks Lewwyn and Noble.
I'll log in to end the turn myself Charriu, probably sometime tomorrow (if that's alright). I want to take some photos for a final wrap-up too. I already whipped some cities when I logged in the other day, but I will hold off on the other planned whips for the sake of the stats. ![wink wink](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/wink2.gif) But in all seriousness, I am really curious to see how they come out.

Good game to the players and thanks for all the reporting for such an epic match! It's been a real treat to follow.

So, it's over?
Gratz to the winners and thanks to all for a glorious multiplayer match. It was an exciting read, I cannot imagine how tense it must be to play this. I also cannot imagine how to finish a turn with such a monster of a civ like the leading parties. I guess I could manage *somehow* and have fun nuking a medieval AI, but having a equally strong rival, having to squeeze the best out of every city... that's just insane.
Long time ago, there was civacs pretty successful opening war, angry battles everywhere, some tough defense of civs that just didn't want to die, a very quick cultural attempt, a veeeeery close spaceship attempt, nuklear bombing and paratroop-pictures to please the eye.... the situation around pindicator alone would be worth a novel, and that's just one episode of this game.
All in all, it was a wild ride. Thanks everyone for reporting this much. Lurkers appreciate it very much. Take care everyone.

But I want to thank them once again for their excellent job at making the map. edit: and now that I've read the lurker thread, also everybody who gave suggestions! I was quite critical of the strung out design during the mid game, but it turns out that it was just perfect for providing a modern era climax where war between the major powers was feasible, while at the same not trivial, and there were sufficient safe backlines to commit. I'd also love to know how consciously the canals were designed, for game altering conequences. I suspect Noble had just that outcome in mind (read up re: Spiro/Stony Lake in our thread).
Still checking in myself hahaha I'm not sure if Noble was ever really lurking this much.
The canals were definitely 100% meticulously designed it was one of my favorite parts of the map. I worked a lot to really make for multiple possibilities with the inner islands and the jungle connectors and the canals were part of making that border area more strategically important. I really wanted inside out and through warfare on the borders.
I'm really happy you liked the map in the end and that the map got such a great narrative and interesting and strong play.

FYI Amicalola informed me that he has no time to finish T250, so I will finish his turn via server. I will then start on the tracking tool statistics, which will take some time. Now this is the first time I'm doing this for a larger game like this. My plans are as following
1. Since all the continents are mirrored, I think it would be interesting to do 5 separate T50 reports. Each would include 5 players who started in the same spot on their continent like for example Joshy, pindicator, Ichabod, Donovan and me. All of these have the exact same layout and therefore are totally equal in terms of map
2. I then would do 5 T100 reports, one for each continent. At that point the PB played mostly like 5 separate PBs one for each continent and this would serve as a nice comparison between players on each continent.
3. From this point onward I would do only 1 report for the whole PB, but I would exclude the eliminated players (at this time 6).
This is only for the reports here. You would still find all the data in the spreadsheet itself.

Sounds like a great format.

Sounds good. You could probably also give each player a tag indicating their continent and position, like "1A" for continent 1, position A.

Good idea Tarkeel. Luckily I found that Lewwyn already provided a system. I will add those island and start numbers to the players. Maybe like Charriu I5S5
