What "Unknown1=Yes" in units.ini is using for?

It's one of the unit data bits from the DOS version that most likely was useless even there.
It's completely unnecessary but I had better things to do than delete unused data.

It's actually what was being referred to here - it controls the idle animation of flying units. In the DOS version, that is.

That seems unlikely. Both vampire and phoenix have this line - "Unknown1=Yes".

@Seravy Does CoM4W 1.02 still crash if you learn too many spells? I know it did in Beta, but you're really opening up the data structure, so I didn't know if you'd made more overhead for this eventuality of modding yet. If I recall correctly, you've made accomodations for more spells per tier than default already. Is there a check in place to prevent spell acquisition when you're about to hit this limit (if it still exists)?

As far as I remember crashing if you had too many spells was only an issue in the DOS version.
This is the first time I hear it causes a problem in the Windows version, and have no idea why that would happen.

Not sure what number you define as too many spells, I have around 120 spells across 4 realms in single save from version 1.01 and it still fine for me.

I could swear that there was a crash if you had more than 6 retorts or 20 spellbooks (too many spells) in Beta, but maybe I misremember the game limitations.

The reason I brought it back up in the first place was that if you start with 4 books in 3 realms to start, and theoretically gain 8 more books (last 2 realms, 4 each) you could get every single spell from trade / rewards. Especially if you bump up the number of available spell drops from lairs/nodes in modding.ini.

If it's a non-issue and the game handles it fine, I'm not invested really in whether 6 & 20 was a limitation at some point in the past.

I tought the maximum number of books was 18, while retorts 6, did it change?

Also i'll ask again: how is score calculated, aside from the multipliers? Is it based on empire pop? Turns elapsed? Power income?
