Sounds like a good plan to me, Mardoc!
I think you have enough forces, in fact I probably recruited too much. But horsemen are actually cheaper to recall than recruit, so those last two are not a total loss in any case.
The orc kings are only level 2, which the land one is recruiting anyway. So I don't think we will have much trouble mopping up. Especially with the main land battle about to start in the daytime.

T7 - disengage, for the most part, the mermen. I send the healthier ones toward the cage, while the more damaged ones can go defend against swimming wolves/grab villages. Everyone else charges at the orcs, but I only kill one archer for my trouble.
T8 - Dang it, I pushed too close to the cage too fast, the nagas kill one of our rescuers. Still, we unlock it and now have 4 new mermen, including a hunter and an initiate. Should finish the naga next turn.
We promote a 2nd horseman to a knight.
T9 - lose another merman to the naga. On the brighter side, we've now got the Storm Trident.
And...we clean up on land, even managing to get Konrad a kill
IBT - Lose yet another merman fighter. . Man, I thought we had these naga under control, but luck is not on my side out here. I could go 3 v 1, and the naga would come out ahead. Still, it's likely that ASM can finish them without further losses - the mermen we have left in the area all have ranged attacks to work with, which the naga do not. Meanwhile the land orcs are essentially dead, you simply need to push onwards.

Sounds like pretty good turns, Mardoc!
Yeah, those level 2 nagas are nasty -- very strong melee attacks. But we still have a bunch of mermen, and now we have mopped up on land as well. Getting Konrad a kill and promoting another horseman to knight is very nice work. And it looks like our mage, druid, and some others units got decent XP as well.
On to ASM to finish off the enemy! It might take more than 3 turns just to get units to the green king, but there should not be all that much actual fighting. Probably just take whatever time is needed to finish off the scenario, unless something unexpected happens.

That was the best part of having overwhelming force, and such a variety of units. It was fairly straightforward to get enemies near death without killing them, so I could bring in who I wanted to put the XP on for the actual kill.

turn 10
kill 2 archers advance
use merfolk to try and bait the orc out of his castle by staying just out of attack range
and finish of the nagas
turn 11
kill 2 archers advance
start taking villages on the island
turn 12
set up land units so they won't take damage from archers they can't kill this turn
the orc on the island can be attacked now that he finaly left the castle
land is over its just advance and kill.

That looks a lot better than where I left it, particularly at sea
We could consider sniping the blue orc down, we've now got three mermen with ranged attacks (the initiate, who we want to level, the hunter, and the fighter with the storm trident).
I'm a bit surprised the land orc's decided to feed us archers - but hey, cheap XP for Konrad and the horsemen!

Nobody has mentioned the finish rules for this map, is there an early finish bonus or is it worth grinding xp?
