Gavagai, the God-Emperor

It would be really great if I were able to communicate to Joey the idea to sign open borders between us and cancel our OBs with Gawdzak. Currently overall trade balance is enormously scewed in his favor, this is one of the ways in which he can capitalize on our hostilities. However, I have no idea how can I ask Joey to do that and just cancelling OB with Gawdzak is too risky.

I'm now really unsure that I can win space race with Gawdzak on my own. This GA which Joey sabotaged could really make a difference. I'm lately thinking a lot about my military options against Gawdzak but they look pretty bad. The problem with Gaedzak is that his economic potential is very strongly dispersed, it's not that I can burn a couple cities or even a whole region and by that secure a space race win. The exeption from this is his ancient heartland but it is very hard to reach - unless I can find a way to go through his fleet. May be some kind of diversion would work like sending a stack of empty transports to the south, forcing him to move away his ships and then making a direct attack. But I doubt that I have enough units for such operation. I'm certainly not eager to build additional ones. Anyway, if the situations becomes hopeless, I will have to do something like that.

There is, of course, a differen side of dispersed economic potential. I'm pretty sure that Gawdzak doesn't have production super-cities like I have. It means that I can afford to be a couple of turns late to the last space race tech.

I made up a viable plan of attack against Gawdzak which would safely allow me to burn several cities at very low additional cost (mostly using what I already have). However it's not going to happen because of these reasons:

1. I still have nothing to deal with WW from major battles outside my borders. I can research Fascism and built a Rushmore but it is too risky in a tight space race.
2. I will leave a very big opening to Joey. Sadly, he still has enough land units to cause trouble and can't be completely ignored.

Speaking of Joey, I asked him for open borders but he is hesitating to accept. What the fuck, I can't think of a single argument for not signing it. It's a straight up benefit for both of us against Gawdzak. If he doesn't reoffer, I will send him a coded message, indicating that I want to use his territory to attack Gawdzak. I feel uncomfortable about using this system of messages to transmit a straight up lie but how else you can deal with this idiot...

Another good idea would be to send Joey Uranium for Uranium offer. He may randomly accept it and it may scare Gawdzak into building units...

Oh, this kind of offer could be also sent to Plako and Dtay. If at least one of them accepts, Gawdzak will feel cornered...

I think this is my favourite current RB thread nod. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply and also for great updates!

Well, it looks like I have an idea which may actually work:

This is Gawdzak's Ironworks city which is probably his national production champion. As it is essential for winning the the space race to produce the last part as soon as possible after the necessary tech is researched, we can safely bet that Life Support or Stasis Chamber will be built here. From that follows that if this city is burnt while building this last SS part, it will through Gawdzak's schedule back by quite a few turns: he will need to start the thing anew at some other place. So, what can I do about this? Well...

I'm honoured to present you the first draft of Operation Sunrise, my ultimate bet to win this game. The picture is pretty self-explanatory, I think. I plan to send along the marked rout a fleet consisting of 8 transports, 13 Battleships, 8 destroyers, 6 subs loaded with 10 nukes and a few guided missiles, 1 carrier and, I think, 2 or 3 Attack Subs which I just happened to have around the staging area (everything appropriately promoted to have 8 moves). The transports will be loaded with 27 Marines (for which I don't have use anyway) and 5 Tanks (with amphibious potential). With any luck Gawdzak will see the fleet only when it arrives to the spot marked as "T-1" (in the next few turns I will carefully check what kind of recon he has in this area and how many transports are nearby). Given that his main army are about a third of a globe away from this place, saving the city will be pretty hard. I estimate that the fleet will be on position just when the space race reaches its climax.

I sent a diplo to Plako trying to communicate the purpose of these ships. The plan heavily relies on his benevolent neutrality but I don't see why he should object.

The ending of this game promises to be epic.

...thought about the following scenario: Joey rushes to Composites, upgrades a crapload of Modern Armour and attacks me. Fuckkkk...

Now I'm thinking about increasing the number of transports to 9 or even 10. After all, Gawdzak can just airlift a lot of stuff. Will have to try to count how many airports he has...
