[Spoilers] Dreylin's short visit to a late Era

All looks reasonable, except settler for the island. I think we need to plant city as quick as possible, not sure that it works well with loading/unloading, same with workers if we want that city to grow quick. Cities on the land can use some of improvements we stop using while making GPs in our core.

So settler to the island is possible, but I'd prefer settling nearby by land with the first one at least.

We could plant 22 or 12 of the Deer to share it with an island city which would grab the Wines, but I take your point about speed and sharing tiles. That would probably put us in the NW and maybe 4 of Wheat if want full access, or 8 of Horses for a bit wider scope. I'll take a shot of the area this evening so we can discuss dotmaps.

2 from the Ivory looks like a good spot, but I'm not sure if we want to plant on the scooter coast without a few more troops. Maybe 8 from Horses for the first city, then follow up with the Ivory city later...?

Spot near ivory I dont like. It needs proper defenses and it has no own food. 8 to horses seems to be wise choice, or we can return to the original plan to plant to SE from cap to corn and sheep. It shares nothing but has its own good food

Agree on the Ivory; I hadn't noticed its lack of own food.

I think that settling NW makes sense for a few reasons: 1) borders pop at Chickens in 3t, so we can pre-improve the Horses, & grasslands 6 and 2 from them; 2) many of our Workers will be in the area already from clearcutting at Chickens; 3) 7 new forests within borders; & 4) keeping the bulk of our Workers in NW also keeps them closer to the Barb city we have our eyes on.

I am using this pic to check when to put 2nd scientist.

11 turns in Goats, 6 turns in Lhamas, next turn 10/5, the turn after next 9/4 so we do it.

6 turns to grow 4 citizen in Lhamas, 13 food per turn must do though. 12/27, 25/27, 24/28 (8), 23/30(9), 22/32(10), 19/34(11), 32/34(11)

One more thing. Forests naturally take 3 turns to chop, but if we start chopping on serfdorm we can do it in 2 even if we turn into slavery. We adopt slavery next turn (T15) to go caste on T20 exactly. Slavery, 2 barracks must demotivate scooter to attack us.

About settling I think that forests overweight other options, so the place to NW is the best imho.

Gotcha, put 5 Workers in Forests to start the chops next turn:

And yes, I promise to remember to do the Worker actions before revolting out of Serfdom... shhh

I see that you found our Neighbour:

Any good reason not to meet him next turn?

We have nothing to hide imho. About maptrade we can think, but meeting all is one of our goals now.

Scooter has 3 extra rifles, no ships yet. He also got library in one of his cities, so we need to expect GP out of there really soon considering pacifism. We can keep explorer by the coast between us to see if he sends something. There is another way, but it seems to be longer. Nothing to worry about imho, but we need to keep a track of his graphs anyway. The important thing is that he has no horses, so against his agg rifleman our grens can do fine, though I fear his machine gun a bit.

I noticed one interesting thing. It seems that in prince difficulty you always win the first battle vs barbarians. Is it just SP feature or we can rely on it too?

I made some tests and found out that versus 3 riflemen it is better to take 1 trebuchet, then gren with star gets 67%. So 1 treb, 3 gren, 1 rifleman can do but for the most safety we'd better take 1 extra gren or better rifleman. All this means that we need 2 races of the galeon.

Since we dont whip settler in Goats, we can whip it several times with bureacracy and get the required number of units. Galeon we buy in Chickens, trebuchet I think we can buy/whip there too, 1 gren comes from Lhamas, so we need just 2-3 units from cap: 1 whips, 1 chop/prod, 1 overflow. It seems it can work.

Yeah, you definitely get one in ancient era MP games, I don't see why it would change in the later era. Could be pretty useful here.
