Commodore Wrote:Hey HAK, was that you who nabbed Theology? The score increase was right. Up for a worker-for-missionary trade?

So after the whole discussion that followed this post, the above is not possible. Not that it would have been a fare trade anyway. Not by a long shot. A religion gives ultimately massive boosts, many buildings that can later be built, units that can get extra experience, and a couple dozen other huge benefits. Plus, once you get it in one city you would get it spread to all your cities. So that’s a big multiplier. A worker….well, just gets to manage some improvements.
So I guess the only way for the religion to spread would be if I captured one of your cities and held onto it until religion spread to it, and getting some use out of the city during that time. And then you would then have to capture it back after it has religion. And that still wouldn’t be enough of a trade-off. smile

Though I would gladly spread religion to all your cities, but that would kind of entail your empire coming under my control. smoke

We could try to annex your lands as well, but we're much too peaceful for that. hammer I guess we'll remain atheists and worship at our slot machines instead of at your alters.

@pindicator - What are you thoughts on me sailing a workboat along the coast past your civ? Is there any way it could sail that would mitigate any impact and make it permissible to you?

"I have gained this by philosophy: that I do without being commanded what others do only from fear of the law."

Well, after you pointed out the usefulness of a religion, we decided we couldn't live without one. It's all about the Yin... And somewhat about the Yang too...Or maybe the other way around...

Ah, I don't really know...

Well, there were 2 religions left last turn. We got one. The above post is a feint, though. We didn't get Taoism. So, what religion did we get?

Another hint: we could have gotten 2 religions if HAK wasn't a turn faster... frown

No, no! I can see the confusion, but we discovered Philately. Everyone on the team got a free magnifying glass and tweezers, and that's the source of our score increase.
