PBEM19 Organizing Thread

Ok, I think the map is ready. I'll paste starts into your threads, and get the game rolling shortly.

My RNG picked Commodore as 1st in the turn order, so the turn order will be as follows:

Commodore 0100-0500 GMT
MNG 0300-0600 GMT
Ranamar 0400-0700 GMT
GES: 1400-1700 GMT
Yuris 1800-0000 GMT

If there are any issues with this, you'll have to let me know... soon. smile
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

No issues from me on the turn order. This way I can blame any crappy decisions we make on going last. "Well, we beelined Code of Laws for Chichen Itza, but our warriors failed to defend against the invading Cats+Swords. Dang turn order!"

Certainly won't mind going first. Should I, um, be able to see the save? Totally a bummer, but I'm actually busy tonight, with a bachelor's party of all things. My dedlurker Sven might be able to get it though, otherwise, I'll be playing it late tonight (erm, tomorrow morning technically).

I write RPG adventures, and blog about it, check it out.

I'll be setting up the tracker this weekend. Until its ready, simply send the save off to the next person. Once the tracker is up I'll let you know where to send the save. Be on the look out for forwarding verification emails.

Not an issue for me... I'll be off for the Holiday weekend so I'll play as soon as it hits my inbox and pass it on (assuming I'm awake, not playing with the kids, eating, etc....)
You can get a look at a t-bone by looking up the bulls ass but I'd rather take the butcher's word for it.

I might cover the first turn or two for our team, so my e-mail is maestro.rb at gmail. As confessed previously, I have exactly zero PBEM experience, so I would surely appreciate a quick rundown of the logistics/etiquette.

  1. Is it completely uncouth to ask GES to CC me when he mails the save to yuri?
  2. Once the tracker is up, can it e-mail the save to both yuri and me?
  3. Are teammates allowed to independently open up a save to look at the state of things (without making any moves or changes, of course)?
  4. If I do play, I presume I'll open the save, play the turn, end the turn, save it anew, and e-mail it to commodore (or later, the tracker)?

Apologies for the newbie questions; I'd just really prefer to not mess up the game, break conventions, etc. Thanks!

1) Up to him
2) Yes
3) Yes
4) When you end turn it automatically saves it. Then, yes, you email the save that the game creates for you.

  1. No it is not, but when the tracker is set up, then there'll be no need for a CC, it'll go to all emails listed for a player.
  2. As far as I know it can, but you can always download it directly from the tracker.
  3. Yes.
  4. Yes.

Just remember to end the turn, the save to be sent will be put into a folder in your Beyond the Sword saves file. In vista that will be C:\Users\<your name>\Documents\My Games\Beyond the Sword\Saves\pbem\FFH2 PBEM VI.

I made the same mistake myself in the new FfH PBEM on the first turn. I sent Kyan my own personal save 3 times, and he couldn't open it.

Okay, Sven will be covering, so we can get started as usual. We're both using the above email address, so everything else is as normal. gl hf.
