Ah, but I did lol

This is a Standard-size map, normally you'd have 3 cities here. I artificially changed the defined size to allow you 4th and compensate for weak capital ( which could be moved btw wink )

Really? It seemed much larger than a standard size map.

It was a clever map, Mist; thanks for the work you put into it. Too bad it didn't work out.

Wrap + Ice instead of ocean. Imagine it as standard wheel and think, was it really that big?

And the Sheaim on this map are neither a rush nor lategame civ. PZ are gimped due to neighbors and distances, and the only late-game UU the Sheaim have is intended to exploit Summoner, which you can't even get from Insane.

I'm sorry, but Ellimist is right, this is awful frown

Nicolae Carpathia Wrote:Yeah, I made a comment to Ellimist a while ago, where playing Perpentach requires flexibility. Sheaim on the other hand need to remain highly focused, causing a horrible anti-synergy.

It's a credit to him that he's doing okay regardless. Long term prospects are poor.

Man, I would have killed for that combo... frown

I had those traits from T87 onward. About 1/4 of the game.

The problem was that I couldn't count on my traits. The Sheaim offered me nothing on this map except PZs.

So?

You start with Creative and Charismatic. Would have killed for those traits...

Correct. Perpentach is a good leader.

The problem, IMO, is that Sheaim are a lousy civ. Perpentach is not well suited to make very good use of the Sheaim's few advantages either.

Sheaim advantages:
Pyre Zombies. Nerfed on this map by distances and neighbors. Mostly viable on defense.
Planar Gates. Hammer expensive, slow, and the map doesn't have enough hammers for them to be viable.
Eater of Dreams archmages. Needs the summoner trait for significant results.
Strong Palace mana. Yes this was nice.

Am I missing something here? The Sheaim are rubbish except for PZs, and I don't see how I could have made much progress with them vs Kurios or Sidar.

Maybe once I had Nox Noctis, a surprise PZ strike would have been possible?

Sheaim advantages:
Pyre Zombies. Go BOOM.
Pyre Zombies. Go BOOM.
Pyre Zombies. GO BOOM.

And Pyre Zombies don't need Training Yards.

BOOM!

The Sheaim don't need much other than BOOM!. Build lots of them (in an ideal world, build lots of them with Mob 1).

Then BOOM!.

BOOM! and yet more BOOM!
