[SPOILERS] Team EggHeads: DMOC and TeddyKGB (Now Lurker-Friendly!)

Lets play some crazy scenario.

We know team M&M researching AH now putting 13bpt.
Lets assume for a moment, they are our neighbors and completely crazy.

After AH done for them on T13 they saw plain Horses in 1st capital ring and decide they want to put chariot online asap.
Assuming they dont have 2hpt center, on T20 they have roaded Horses and start chariot, while their worker start roading towards our capital.
Their capital still at size1 with 15/22 food stored if they worked 3fpt tile after worker done. So their 1st chariot ready on T26 and start moving in our capital direction right away.
If they start on 2hpt center and do the same - chariot done on T23. If one of them psychic and know where Horses will appear, their chariot done on T22.
If they start on 3fpt center and have forested PH in BFC - its the same T23 and T22 for psychic preroad.
If they start on 3hpt center ... but thats crazy enough already.

Now, I don't think there is an even one chance they will play like that. But its good to know that with normal city center, fastest possible chariot could be ready on T26.
How do you like our timing on BW(T45-46)?

Any chance you could sometimes turn on the Show Resources mode when taking screenshots? Not just for me, but for anyone else less experienced reading, it can be tricky to tell resources without them sometimes.

How do you like our timing on BW(T45-46)?

I'm fine with a Turn 45-ish Bronze Working, given our situation. If they send an early chariot, then we'll likely be out even if we went to an early Bronze Working. It's just not worth taking a suboptimal tech path (for economy) to worry about an attack like this.

I almost always have resources turned on, but occasionally I turn them off since they can block the production view of the city, as it does in this game. I'll generally have them on in the future.

I'm not sure if I have the the time right now to dedicate to a second full blown game + instruction (especially with graduate school applications coming up), but I'll definitely try to do my best to be as didactic as possible in this thread, and I encourage you to suggest ideas for how we should play in this game (and I'll respond if I agree, respectfully disagree, etc.). And of course, I'll probably have an urging to play additional Civ4 once 2014 starts. crazyeye

I think next scout move should be 8-7 ( assuming the numeric movement refers to the grid as if it was a numpad )

The last thing you want is to move 4-7 and finish on the grassland with a panther next to you.

Animals don't start spawning until after turn 5, so turn 6 is when we should start being concerned about safety, i.e. on turn 5 let's get our scout on defensive terrain. wink

That said, finishing in the forest after 8-7 gets us further north sooner, so there's benefits either way

I'll be checking your other game on RB if you start one, maybe do some posting if it'll helps, but, like DMOC, I wanna concentrate on PB14 for some times. As I said, it's first MP expirience for me, so I planning posting much here to reread later and learn from my mistakes.
If you want to learn more about MP, in my opinion, you should also read previous PB/PBEM threads. You can open several threads of one game at the same time and read about game progress from different points of view: team1, team2 and global lurkers.

As for moving scout 8-7 now, in my opinion , 4-7 is a better move because it'll allow us reveil more land West. If we'll see some hill in NW direction, we can consider to move scout there and get back to water signs after. Then continue N and NE.
As we know now, moving scout on deers this turn would be better. But at the time I wasnt sure there is more land West, so I suggest going to current scout position to keep option to move him 8-7 next available for us. And I think it was a correct play still.

One more thing, please post here your suggestion and questions more. The more players take part in current decisions discussion - more chance our team will play PB14 close to optimal. You can always see something other players missed.

What you think about our city#2 possible location?
Do you like our city#2 overlap Pigs in general or you prefer less overlap with capital for our city#2?
Its early to choose city#2 location without knowing surrounding tiles, I know. Just want to know your opinion on this in general.

I guess, we both agree our city#2 should go W-NW-N direction. It looks more promising, lets hope there is riverside cows there or similar.

Do you agree with 4-7 scout next or you prefer something else?
