Yeah, dtay is going to be a challenging neighbour; just been catching up on pitboss18 and he's certainly taken advantage of his position there.
Agree that commerce will come from non-river tiles; assume second city grabs Gold and works farmed FPs (can also farm the Silks for a bit extra pre-Calendar, but it does look like our coastal cities are going to pull the weight (provided we can find some food out east!

Northern Scout headed North as suggested - sadly no Huts revealed.
Southern Scout dodged back into forest because a Wolf had come into view. Wolf decided not to attack and disappeared South, so Scout continued West to reveal some more Coast.
New Scout headed NE to the "?" spot between the peaks and revealed a Fish resource 6-9 of the spot - so only workable from "?".
The Worker finished the Mine, but we hadn't really discussed what he was heading to next, so I have not moved him. Sadly we're 2t from BW so moving him into a forest to chop would lose him a turn. I was thinking move 7 into the flatland forest next to the cap and then head to start Farming the FP.
Do we want to do: switch to BW when available, Whip the Worker - overflow into a Warrior - then Settler using 1+ chops?

Oh, and because the Worker is not moved, I did not end the Turn.

How you connect to the host guys? So far I used caledorn.no-ip.org:2061 and today I fail to join at this address.

Yeah, that's what I've been using. Have you updated the natneg hosts file since Caledorn switched?

Didn't know if you could play tomorrow morning, so I finished the turn. Decided to move the Worker 4 onto the bare river grass hill; next turn we can either Mine or move 4 again and start farming the FP.
Another question: next tech? My initial assumption is Wheel -> Pottery is our next path since City 2 isn't going to need AH for food.

Had a chat with 2metra; fortunately, I have just got my new compy, so should be able to play turns ... and tonight I will work out screenshots, etc. so the thread will be a bit more interesting!
Anyway, we agreed to Mine the tile under the Worker - we are size4 and currently working a Grass forest for 2/1/0, which the Mine will switch to 1/3/1 gaining +1c on the farming FP option. (plus not losing Worker turns and longer time to improve the FP)
Wheel agreed as next tech, and revolt to Slavery likely after the 2nd Worker is complete. (although I'm currently re-thinking this and will review tonight with the game infront of me).

Balls, compy ate my post!
Trying again to get the screenshots to display and then will add the text....
Yay, got that fixed ... next stop, text!
So here's our Southern Scout, who seems to be dodging a pack of Wolves at the moment. I /think/ there's more than one, but might be wrong. Either way we're running West. 7-1 next to keep a view of the Coast?
NW of dtay here and I sent the Scout to the Coast to skip the Lion roaming. It's injured (1.3/2), which means it probably ate dtay's Scout, which is good for us. We could consider maneuvering our Scout to a safe place to be hit to gain the XP from it. Probably move 6-7 next turn to check for Lion position but then stick to Coast.
It's looking more and more like there's no land bridge to the North. If we're being conservative we can go 1-1 next turn and then 8-5. If we want to take a risk we go 4-4 (or turn back halfway if we see something waiting).
Capital shot. I named the first Worker Alpha; she will complete the Mine in 4t. The Worker will complete in exactly 4t, so no overflow into the Warrior. Or we could revolt next turn and 1-pop whip the Worker, completing it 1t earlier and overflowing some into the Warrior. But we'd be size3 rather than size4 when we start the settler. Gut feeling is let the Worker complete, revolt to Slavery, complete Warrior and then Whip the Settler (maybe with a chop?) - thoughts?

Intermediate turn update:
We have Copper:
And more Sheep.
dtay also has Copper:
It also looks like there might be 2 Lions in the area; the second marked was at full health and I /think/ that Animals don't heal, right? I kept to the Coast anyway.
And we found a Hut in the South to pop next turn!
dtay has already moved this turn, so he can't beat us there next turn. This does prove he has a second Scout though, so we might not find any more to the West?
Anyway, since HAK has not played yet I will take a little while to knock together a sandbox and work out whether it'd be better for us to switch to Slavery now and whip, or complete the Worker and then switch and whip the Settler....

So the simming took a bit longer than I expected and there seemed to be very little difference at the end, but it /seemed/ to come out slightly ahead to switch & whip ... so I did that.
Hut gave us 43gold, and the Northern Scout revealed Clans offshore and a Bear wandering about past the Copper (out of range of the Scout). Northern Scout is dodging Lions & continuing North.
Edit: It seems like we were the first to whip in this game!
